Hey guys, 

 

Just got my NOA1 today after sending in my I-130 in (IR-1/CR-1) and it was sent to the Nebraska processing center.  From everything I've read, this is the slowest processing center.  Does anyone know if you can request a transfer to another processing center?  I've heard the Texas processing center is the quickest - does anyone have any recent experience with them?

 

Any advice would be great!  Thanks!

No it is not possible to request your petition be transferred to another service center for faster processing

You can't request, but ours got transferred once we went 30 days over processing time. We got a mailed notice saying transferring due to workload balancing. Went from vsc to csc. I am not sure if this happens for everyone of just some people over processing time.

**Adjusting from initial Q1/changed to B1 then overstay, termination of removal proceedings**

(STAND ALONE i-130/TERMINATION OF REMOVAL)

First met: Totally random by asking for directions, June 2014 while on vacation at Disney World (L)

Engaged: Aug. 21, 2014

Married: Dec. 1, 2014

ICE phone contact: sometime in early Dec. 2014- Co-operated, retained attorney who advised the same.

Filed stand alone i-130: January 2015 (VSC)

ICE home visit, schedule time to go to DHS office and NTA issued, date TBD, was not detained and released on own recognizance within an hour: January, 2015.

NOA1: Feb. 20, 2015.

Transfer to CSC to balance workloads: August 2015

1)First Master Calendar Hearing: Sept. 9, 2015-Continued based on pending i-130, new court date in 6mo.

Congressional Inquiry: Dec 8. 2015

***i-130 APPROVED WITHOUT INTERVIEW: Dec. 21, 2015** :dancing:

2)Second Master Hearing: March 9, 2016- Removal proceedings terminated w/o prejudice based on approved i-130!! Remanded to USCIS to begin AOS process :dance:

(AOS AFTER TERMINATION)

Filed AOS packet: March 16, 2016.

NOA1: March 21, 2016.

Biometrics: April 20, 2016.

RFE Initial evidence: April 21, 2016 for birth cert/translation and Q1/B1 i94s

RFE response received: May 10, 2016.

EAD approval: May 25, 2016- Card arrived at attorney's office! Could not pick up until May 30 because we were at Disney World again :):D

Notice of missing medical exam: July 2016 (Done on purpose to avoid expiration, we will bring it to the interview as stated in notice)

Inquiry about case status: Sept 2016- Case pending interview at local office.

Inquiry about case status again: Oct. 2016- Due to factors not related to your case, anticipate a delay in processing

Infopass #1 at local office: Dec. 19, 2016- Case pending background/security checks, advised when to renew EAD #2

not possible to REQUEST a transfer, although they might transfer you after a while if they decide to for their own reasons. I wasn't transferred and waited at Nebraska for 6,5 months before approval... Wishing you lots of patience

14 September - I-130 received at Nebraska Service Center

16 September - NOA1 via e-mail

29 September - notice returned to USCIS because the Post Office could not deliver it

22 November - NOA1 finally received in the mail (in the US)

31 March 2017 - NOA 2 via e-mail, app and USCIS website

3 April - NOA 2 received in the mail (in the US)

11 April - Case Was Sent to Department of State

17 April - Case received by NVC

20 April - NVC case number assigned

21 April -  DS-261 Completed Online
25 April - Welcome e-mail received, AOS fee paid

You cannot request a transfer. USCIS will transfer applications between service centers by themselves; why this is done and which applications are chosen appear to be totally random.

So, what technically equates to being "over their processing timeline"? Am guessing it goes by NOA1 date.

 

Currently at 8 months waiting and counting on our case at Nebraska. 

 

I had everything planned out in my head, 6 months at the Service center, 3-4 months at NVC, 2 months for interview. Relative to be in the US by June 2017. Now that dream is getting pushed further and further away.

 

Waiting game continues. (who knows what else will be waiting for us after NOA2)
