I'm from Norway an we just got our NOA2 approved and I have to collect a lot of the paperwork. Does anyone know what language my birth certificate needs to be in? I have my original one in Norwegian, but do I have to get a new one in English? Or will the embassy approve it in Norwegian?

You won't need a new birth certificate but you might need a translation. The normal procedure is that documents that are not in English or the language of the embassy's country must be translated. Since the embassy in Sweden handles all immigrant visa cases from Norway you may not need a translation so best to check with the embassy.

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Since you will need a certified English translation of your birth certificate after you arrive in the US under your K1 Visa when submitting your Adjustment of Status, might as well get the translation done now.  You'll cover your bases both at the K1 Visa interview and during the Adjustment of Status application.   Easy peezy....

You need to go on Altinn and order the multilingual birth certificate. Ask for several copies - you'll need it once you're stateside as well, and it's free of charge.

Does anyone know what the procedure is if you do not have a birth certificate?? for the AOS?

I am a norwegian citizen but I am adopted, and I do not have a birth certificate from my native country. I do have a passport from my native country that I had before being adopted.
