Hi,

I'm a newbie to this site. I am an American born man who is in the process of bringing over my fiancee from Iran. I just received an approval mail on Thursday -- very pleased (esp. considering the current political climate). My fiancee is to do her interview in Ankara. I have two questions:

1. Now that we have been approved, have we cleared the biggest hurdle? Is all that's left to do is wait for the bureaucratic process to complete?

2. Is anyone on this forum attempting to bring their fiance(e) from Iran via Ankara?

Thanks

Well...there are a few on here who have fiancé(e)s from the Middle Eastern countries. Many of them are placed on Administrative Review. Now as to whether that is just for the male fiancés I'm not sure. Maybe if you check with the Middle Eastern Regional Forum someone there can answer your question.

Congratulations too, on your approval. It's a great feeling, isn't it! :D

Thank you very much. Yes it is very good for my stress-level :)

I'm sure there will be a security clearance check for her. I hope the fact that she's a 24 year old female will help, but who knows.

Congratulations on your approval. Most ladies coming from the ME/Africa/Asian forums do not have Administrative Review unless they have name hit or incomplete paperwork. Good luck.

Her K1 Visa isn't complete yet as she will still need to be interviewed. You might want to post in this section

That's a pretty big hurtle to over-come, the interview in a middle eastern country. Congratulations. Your next biggie will be the AOS. Good luck :D

What was approved? The I-129F? You said that she will have her interview. If so, the K-1 hasn't been approved yet.

Good luck

Yes. The I-129F has been approved. She still has to do her interview, but this is a completely legit marriage so I'm not sure what could happen in the interview to screw things up. I guess that is the point of my post, what exactly have we accomplished now that our I-129F has been approved??? I'm confident that we will satisfy every requirement (medical, financial, security), but, of course, it could take longer than I imagine.

Thanks. I'm not clear as to why the interview will be such a big deal. This is a completely legitimate marriage so any question they ask my fiancee about me will be hit out of the park. I guess security checks will take some time... my hope is that a 24 year old girl will not require as extensive a check (wishful thinking perhaps).
