I'm in the process of removing the conditions of my marriage based green card. I already filed my I-751 and received my 1 year extension letter in the mail.

I just got a new job, signed the contract on 3/28, now my Green Card expired 4/3. They did not accept my DHS letter as enough proof of my work authorization, they did E-Verify but I think the employee input my information incorrectly because a message error kept popping up, she said it's a new system and they're not even sure how it works... so now I'm stuck with a Tentative Nonconfirmation email that I just received and I don't know what to do.

I tried calling the phone number but they're closed now, so I'll call back tomorrow. And I'll have to ask my employer for a copy. I'm seriously losing my mind, I've been having issue after issue since that Green Card expired. The Social Security Office couldn't help either. I can't take it anymore! Give me advice please. :(

the paper clearly states it grants you an extra year of work authorization. the employer can not say it is not good enough since it Is valid. the noa1 should work for dhs authorization to work which is one of the possible form of work authorization on the i9.

I showed them the NOA1 too, I scanned both documents and they sent me a list of other documents I should provide that I don't have because they do not apply to my case. Then finally someone from HR said I could just use my State ID and the extension letter, they tried inputting that information into E-Verify but it kept giving us an error code, both employees weren't sure what to do so they just input my alien number instead of the state id and it finally went through.

Another thing that might be the issue is that I didn't update my social security card after my Adjustment of Status, since the social security number doesn't change, I didn't really know I had to get a new card without the DHS legend.

I tried going to the SSA a few days ago but my Green Card was already expired and the SSA employee said nothing could be done about it until I receive my Green Card in the mail (in 9-12 months!)

So that's where I am now. Uncertainty all over.

Ok, so, Monday they first did the E-Verify it went through but somehow I received this Tentative Nonconfirmation email. The next day I went back to the same person that input my information, showed her the email and she said she is not sure what's going on because the person actually in charge of this process is gone. So she tried the E-Verify again but this time with my Green Card and extension letter. This time it showed "verified" again but I now appear in the system, whereas the first time they couldn't find my name. So I think I'm good, she assured me everything is okay and if anything were wrong she would have gotten an email too, but I'm a little uneasy because I asked for a copy to verify this information and she said I couldn't get one. Anyway, I'm so thankful to have this job and I intend to keep it for long, hopefully I won't be having these issues ever again!
