Hi

I am applying for citizenship next month under 5 year rule, However I was married to USC but got Divorced jan 2015, I was married in Jan 2011, and now from May  1 I am eligible for Applying Citizenship.

My Questiions are:

1. Do I still have to send My residence proof from last 5 years ? or should I need to take Lease documents with me at the interview.

2. Do I have to send Tax returns from 5 years ? or should I need to take them with me ??

3. Regarding Trips n days from Out of Country ? Is there any Way to get the correct days n date except stamps on my passport ? Sometimes I do take connecting flight.. which takes like 5-6 hours stay, so I am little confused with the dates from my passport Entry stamps.

4. I know I have to send Divorce documents with N-400 but Do I have to send my Current Marriage certificate too ? (BTW I got Remarried in Nov. 2015).

Any Reply will be helpful n much appreciate your time n Guidence.

Thanks

So in May you are at 5 years residence. So your burden of proof is to show continuous residency within the U.S.

1. You have to list all the addresses you have resided at in the last 5 years on the N-400 Form. I have not heard myself of a requirement to send in proof of residence for the 5 year rule. You would need to show state ID with address at the interview I presume to show address in the state you would have your interview in. I sent a copy of my current driver's license.

2.Tax Transcripts are one of the strongest proofs of continuous residence. I did not send them in - I plan to take them to the interview. I got mine online at IRS.

3. The only other option is to consult your travel documentation ( hotel reservations, rental cars, flights, if you have an account with an online booking tool such as Expedia or Travelocity you could consult your trip history.) Travels where you have a passport stamp should def. be listed if within the last 5 years as you will be bringing all passports to the interview. Usually the stamp would tell you when you entered the US if a US stamp. Canada usually only stamps if traveling by air but it may be different for everyone.

4. Proof of earlier marriages ending ( Divorce Decree) is a mandatory requirement so you have to send it in. Current marriage certificate you could bring to the interview - I sent mine in as it was only one sheet.

Hope this helps.
