hi

my interview was on 5th april and my baby is 2 months old who is not eligible for CRBA since my husband hasn't lived for 5 years in US.
i tried rescheduling my interview but they didn't respond and i had to go to the interview eventually. My interview went well visa got approved but they did not do anything for the baby. Meanwhile they have kept my visa on hold till my baby gets the visa.
I petitioned for my baby already and it's been a month now. I requested an expedite and they asked for evidence. I faxed my interview letter. what else in your opinion could i fax in order to get my expedite request approved? Also how long can it take if case is expedited?
P.S: its an IR2 visa and case is at Potomac service center.

If children were reasons for "expedite" everyone would just be having kids for no reason.

I think it is very reasonable for the USCIS to expedite your case based on the fact that you have a small child that cannot be taken care of with financial crisis  and so if I were you I contact the Congress and senators in the area each state normally have two senators call go ahead and contact the office via website they will require release forms for you to print  fill out and fax it back to them with reason you want case expedite. they have been very very helpful  with most of our client in the area. they will write a letter through email to immigration and government agencies listen to the government more than they would listen to the client so  try try that

Reasonable as it may be, it just doesn't happen

I don't have any experience with expediting cases, but is financial hardship a criteria? If so you could try to provide evidence that you remaining apart from your husband, with a new baby, creates a financial hardship.

Just having the baby alone and having to wait for that unfortunately doesn't on its own count. You can always have your husband contact his senator/representative, but they just may not be able to do much.
