Stuck on I-864 ez

Hi there,

I'm stuck on two areas of the I-864 EZ. Can someone please help?

My wages that I entered in tax information field which came from IRS tax transcript (part 5) was actually less than what I calculated for my annual income. This amount on transcript was less due to unpaid time off.

On (part 4) I have to list household size. I am only petitioning my husband. So would I list spouse as zero because he is already included in field 1a, or would I just leave that blank? Thanks for the help.

Whatever you calculate and report as current income needs to be backed up with some kind of documentation if it's more than what is shown on your tax return. It's okay to report more- for example you got a raise so earning more now. But to document that,  a letter from the employer stating your current rate, or six months of pay stubs showing that higher rate would need to be included or they won't count it. If your pay varies because of irregular hours or overtime, it may be hard to document. If your 2016 tax return shows enough income, you might want to just go with that same number because it would be approved.  That would be a smoother way to go if you can't easily document a higher income on paper.

Your household size example is correct. The box for spouse would be appropriate if you were sponsoring    somebody other than your spouse, like a parent. So in that scenario, parent is the immigrant in 1a, but you would have to count your spouse in 1b for a household of 3.
