Hello. I am a USC based in the Bay Area, California. I want to marry a Canadian Citizen and am looking for the best risk-free and fastest solution for her to come here to the states. Is it better to marry in Canada and then do I130 to bring her to America or is it better to wait and file for k-1 and have her come and then marry and then to AoS? At the end of the day we want to live here in the Bay Area after marriage. What's the best option based on hte  current environment? Thanks!

Ahhh RIsk Free.  Wouldn't that be a blessing!

Every situation and circumstances are different.  K1's work better for some, others prefer CR1.  Each one has pros and cons.  You can evaluate for yourself here:

K1 is faster but more expensive and there's a period where they cannot work or travel

Thanks for your quick response. How long is this period? From what I read, it is approximately 90 days after your 485 is filed, is this correct?

You've got it ;) also take note that she will have to travel to Montreal either way for her interview

I believe it's the only location at the moment.

Wait, your other posts mention either you're on an F1, or future wife is on F1 with intent to AOS. Which is it?
