Thanks a lot for the very detailed response!! This is very helpful!

Sherlock,

Keep in mind that a police certificate must be submitted as well if the person 16 years old or older (at least for my country). Check for your country the requirements. Also 2x2 passport picture ( I read that it was needed).

OK the I130 must be completed. You need passport style pictures, birth certificate, marriage certificates, payment of $535.. this is just step 1.  Plesase check the instructions. Everything must be translated in English (if it is in a different language).  By the way if your fiancee is doing the petition I believe he must be a US citizen in order to petition his parents (however double check since I am not sure ).

Wish you the best.

I believe so however since is a son to parent petition probably he will not need the marriage certificate to proof relationship between him and his parents however he will definetly need the birth certificate for each of his parents and also your fiancee birth certificate that will be use as proof of relationship between your fiancee and parents.

Hello..im planning to petition my mom from the Philippines.anybody here with a problem with mom's birth certificate..? Do I need to send her birth certificate together with form I 130?? Or just mine.Thank u

I don't think you need to send in your mother's birth certificate. I think you just need to prove you're her child so you'll need to provide your own birth certificate showing your mom as your birth mom. If she changed her name from what's on your birth certificate then you'll need proof of that too (name change form or marriage certificate).

Here for my mother-in-law, here's what we've done so far for her IR-5:

04.06.17 - NOA1
09.14.17 - NOA2
09.21.17 - Case Sent to NVC/DoS
10.19.17 - Notice of Immigrant Visa Case Creation
10.23.17 - Fees Paid Online
10.25.17 - Fees Posted
10.26.17 - IV Application Submitted
10.26.17 - AOS Submitted
10.27.17 - Civil Documents Submitted
11.09.17 - Documents Accepted, Case Closed @ NVC
12.13.17 - Interview Notice

01.03.18 - Medical Exam Scheduled01.11.18 - Interview
01.31.18 - IV Picked Up
