Hello. I am new in this forum. I am writing because I am hoping to find answers here. I have filed I-130 for my partner (girl) since March 2016. We were inferviewed last June 2016 but during the interview, the IO said that my partner's birth certificate from the Philippines is blurred and could not read the maiden name. IO said that there was no question regarding  the validity of our marriage but he would need a copy of her birth certificate.  On third week of September, we received an RFE asking for the birth certificate and we had it sent from the local office from the Philippines by first week of October.  Until now, it's already April 2017, we have not received any update on our case. I-130 is still pending and her work authorization is almost expiring on May 17, 2017.  We had an infopass last week of March and IO said the birth certificate is on the second floor of the Los Angeles office.  There was no choice but to send the renewal of work authorization card. Is it really this long for an RFE case eventhough it is only for the birth certificate? Thank you and hoping for a reply to have an idea of the processing time.

That is quite a long time for nothing to happen.  Have you contacted your elected rep  to check on the status?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Hello I only tried the infopass and the only thing that the IO did was to let us wait and he went upstairs and told us that yes they have three copies of the birth certificate. So its like why cant he just pull it out and review it. Its been a year and my partner's father has cancer and she could not go home because per lawyer it was not safe to use the advance parole. Am afraid that she will lose her job as a homehealth nurse if she does not get the renewal of her work authorization card. I am new to this and I do not know who to contact and we are desperate :(. thanks for your reply
