Hello, i need your help with time-frame on how long will this take. here is my experience.

03/04/2016 - I filed I-130 F2A for my wife who is in Albania (at this time i was Green Card Holder)

03/11/2016 - Received letter with priority date 03/04/2016. Case number WAC-16-903-55***

06/21/2016 - I filed N400 to become citizen

07/12/2016 - Received I-797, where it states the above petition has been approved. The original visa petition sent to NVC.  NVC Case Number TIA20166723***

09-07-2016 - NVC sent my wife in Albania a letter that NVC received the immigrant visa petition filed by me, However the case was not eligible for further processing because the is an annual they can issue.

I will have my neutralization oath on April 21/2017.

So we already have the approval and i will become citizen in about 2 weeks.

How long will it take them to set a interview for my wife, after we update the citizenship to NVC and send them all the required documents and fees.

Thank You very much for taking your time to share you experience and thoughts. God bless you

Congratulations on your naturalization! Once you are a citizen, your wife's petition becomes an IR1/CR1 and is no longer subject to quotas. Tale a look at the NVC threads to get a sense of how long it takes to process.

Is your timeline updated?

First thing you should do is fill in your VisaJourney timeline - everyone who will be able to help you will find it much easier if they know where you're at in the process. Go to your profile page and add in all your dates.

Then send a letter to NVC informing them that you're a citizen, including your Case #, a copy of your naturalization document, a copy of your I797 approval notice, and info about your wife. You should receive confirmation from them shortly, and they will begin processing your case. More about that here:

http://www.***removed***/greencard/***removed***/petition-upgrade.html

Then go onto the following thread and read all the stuff about the NVC process (especially all the links in the first post).

Look at people's signatures and timelines - they will show you how quickly things are moving. NVC is a bit strange because we finally have a little bit of control over the speed... there are several steps - documents to submit, a big long form to fill out online, fees to pay etc etc and each step "unlocks" the next. It seems like most people who are prepared and have everything ready to go are progressing from the assignment of a case number (which you already have, although you might (I really don't know about this) get a different one now that it's an IR1/CR1) to "case complete" in 1-3 months.

Then, after "case complete" your petition will be forwarded to the embassy in your wife's home country, where she will be assigned an interview time. This shouldn't take too long, but depends on how busy that embassy is, and how long it takes the file in transit. It looks like for Albania, it takes a week or 2 from case complete until an interview is scheduled, and the interview is about 2 months after it was scheduled.

If she is approved at the interview, she will likely have to hand over her passport while they put the visa in it, and then send it back to her. Once she gets it, she has up to 6 months to use the visa and come to the US.

So it looks like there's a range of about 3 1/2 months to 5 1/2 months more before she has her visa in hand, provided you pay all the fees in a timely manner and submit all the paperwork as soon as you are allowed to.
