I forgot the biometrics fee! What now?!

My husband is adjusting from a K1 visa and we sent his AOS application yesterday and completely forgot the biometrics fee! His k1 visa expires in August so we have time, I'm panicking!

 

What will happen next? Does anyone have recent experience of this happening? 

 

Im hoping I'll just get a letter letting me know how to pay instead of getting the entire application back.

Hi There,

 

cashing the fee, or accepting a waiver for it, is the first thing they take care of when they receive an application. Unfortunately, if you send a wrong or incomplete fee, you can expect to receive the entire application back in the mail soon.

If they do this, it's just a matter of resubmitting it correct?

His K-1 visa expired the day he entered the US. 

 

It is is recommended to apply for AOS before the I-94 expires which is 90 days from entry but a lot of people file after that day. 

 

As said above they will return your whole package and then you will submit it again with the right amount.

Okay great. I must have misunderstood that little tid bit when doing my research.  In that case then, he has 60 days left on his I-94 as he arrived march 4.

Is it worth calling the Chicago USCIS center where we sent it?

It will probably be around 14 days to get it back. And no you shouldn't call.
