Advance parole passport stamp while waiting for combo card

When i spoke to tier two USCIS officer about my combo card being delayed he said as my AP I-131 has been approved, i can take my noa2 receipt to info pass and they stamp my passport which works as advance parole while I wait for the card to be resent.

I've just managed to book an appointment for Tuesday morning, has anyone heard of this process or been through it themselves? I know the advance parole itself is no guarantee but wondering if this process can really substitute the combo card while I'm waiting for it to arrive

In my timeline - biometrics 1-11, approved 3-20 and card mailed 3-27, although I've read a lot of people saying approval timing has nothing to do with when you get biometrics. I've read of people getting stamps for green card approval but hard to find the same for advance parole. I've checked with an immigration lawyer and he said this is possible, but at the discretion of the officer on the day. Seems like a rarely used thing so I'll make sure to come back here with an update in case anyone gets this problem in future

Went to the infopass appointment today, three hours later and told no three times I finally got approved for 90 days advance parole! Even though it's been approved she said I still need to have an emergency back home to attend to (which I don't and was honest about), but they eventually accepted that the mix-up with mailing my combo card was clearly not my fault and I've been making every effort to find out what's been going on there.

If you want my advice - even though I somehow managed to get approved today, I honestly don't know how it happened and the rule about having an emergency should still apply to be safe...

When you apply AOS , EAD and AP? I'm waiting for combo card. I need to go back home due my family situation. But I have no idea what does it mean emergency.

Dec-16, they mailed it to me Mar-27 but something went wrong with USPS (I've checked and I am actually on the building list so I've no idea what happened)

Emergency - I think it's all up to their discretion, to be honest I've no idea but I think it would need to be a relative in critical condition etc, and you'll need to show some proof of this of course

Good luck!
