I-864 approval

I have filed i-864 and my last two years of income meets the requirements from Poverty Guidelines 

enough income for year 2015, 2014 but I wasn't having enough income in year 2013.  Do they consider income for all three year in order to approve i-864?

They like to see consistency but they worry most about current income and see you're up to date with the IRS.

I've been told conflicting information on this. I see you're in the process for IR-1/CR-1 so it may be different for you but here is my experience...

 

My husband came in on a K-1 and we had a sponsor at the time because I lived abroad and didn't meet the poverty guidelines. When I returned to the states I landed a job that put me above the poverty line. Before applying for Adjustment of Status I met with an immigration attorney and asked if my current income would to forgo a sponsor and she said no. So we used a sponsor for AOS, even though my current income met the poverty line. When the time came for our AOS interview all they cared about was my current income and said we didn't need to sponsor this round.

 

You won't ever get a sure answer from anyone. If you have access to a sponsor I would definitely get one, just to put your mind at ease. If you don't have access to a sponsor I think you could still get by but it'd be natural to have a little worry.
