Yes he may be able to conduct business separately from how he acts around other men. But once again, that doesn't change the fact that he is misogynistic and sexist, like every other men that "jokes" like that. If Obama did it, the same would apply to him. I would still prefer Obama's political stances over Trump's, but I would also consider Obama sexist. 

Thankfully I don't vote on people based on their persona. Easy to market that to gullible people as seen with the last President.

rest assured, if any clip of obama speaking in such a way was ever in the hot little hands of the gop we would have known about it. and there would have been impeachment proceedings if at all possible.

but considering obama has two daughters, and to my knowledge he's  never even uttered a 'if they werent my daughters i'd be dating them' so uh..guess it comes down to personal integrity and sound character (good qualities in a man, i'd say) which trump clearly lacks.

I don't think any of us vote EXCLUSIVELY based on personality. No one is suggesting that either.

 

To say that you don't consider it is ridiculous, and quite literally impossible. The way our elections work the "persona" of the candidates is a major factor, whether someone admits to it or not. Their personality impacts how they perform in debates, how they perform at crowd organizations etc... It impacts the donations they receive, which then impacts ad time etc... Their persona is very important, even if it is only on a subconscious level for some people. So you may think you don't vote based on persona, but I guarantee it was a factor regardless of whether you admit to it.

 

Someone who voted for Trump saying they don't consider "persona" is also, just on its own, quite funny. He had little else to offer.

But it is also true that such "guy talk" is misogynistic. Yes lots of guys say it and act that way, that doesn't mean it isn't prejudiced and sexist. As smile pointed out, sexism is rampant in our country.

 

The fact that people see "guy talk" as a valid excuse is only more evidence. No one sees a problem with the fact that guys all meet up and joke about grabbing women's genitals.

I spoke that way a little bit. I believe I was around 15 or 16 and I really wanted to "fit in" with cool kids when I changed schools. Last time I said something like that was maybe 17. Unfortunately in University you couldn't always avoid those kinds of people all the time even though by then I had realized I had acted like an idiot for no great benefit. 

 

Though taking classes that were actually difficult did help a lot. Don't like to generalize but there weren't too many guys like that in courses that required a lot of effort.

Last time I checked it was still there

 

I never spoke that way and if somebody around me did I pretty much shook my head and stayed out of the conversation. I never cared about fitting in, I still don't I do my own thing. Just not how I was raised I guess. I'm not saying you were or that everybody who speaks that way was raised wrong but with the exception of the many days I skipped school, I was a pretty good teen lol.

Ya I always knew what I was doing was wrong, but i changed schools a few times when I was younger so didn't have consistent friends over multiple years and so it was an attempt to "fit it". Looking back now I knew it was stupid but as a kid wanting friends, sometimes you do things you wouldn't normally do.

 

As soon as I became a young adult/late teenager I realized that it wasn't worth "fitting in" to act like a douche. Trump hasn't quite learned that yet I guess.

Yeah I get that. I guess for some reason I just never cared. When it comes to friends I always took quality over quantity. Luckily my wife is the same way so neither of us gets to drag the other out often  We keep to ourselves for the most part.

Ahhh ok. Well I never understood why anybody here or anywhere else, left or right, would make assumptions or speculations like that. You don't know the person and it doesn't make you sound smart to pretend you do.
