I answered--Hillary lost against quite possibly the worst candidate the Pubs have had in years. Why, because she was a fake , lying elitist that got caught in more lies than I can list. The middle working class despised in enough numbers to elect Trump. It is really that simple.

   In truth I don't want to vote for most candidates, regardless of gender, but that still doesn't explain why there is an imbalance in the number of candidates of each gender in the first place.

  My question, you didn't answer. If it's not misogyny what is it. I agree the last 20 or 50 years have been better than the rest of history in that regard. So statistically we should have a relatively normal distribution of candidates at this point. Since we don't, what else do you think is at the root of it?

Read what I said again. Nowehere did I claim I know as "fact" there isn't any, so there's no proof to provide. Indeed it is just my opinion. What I said can basically be broken down to three things:

 

1. I don't personally believe Clinton not getting elected has anything to do with misogyny, it has everything to do with her being, well, her.

 

2. Besides Clinton there has not been a serious enough female candidate in recent history, which as you agreed has been better than prior to that. I don't think saying 45 presidents when many of them were before women could even vote is proof of misogyny today.

 

3. I personally know no one who didn't want to vote for Clinton because she doesn't have the right parts(although maybe she does, who knows?). That's not to say there aren't any, I just don't believe that could be considered a valid reason(excuse) for losing the elections.

I'm going to go ahead and say while sometimes I may seem liberal I think of myself as more of a moderate.  I think my Canadianness makes me more liberal to some.  But I'm not the type to tow the party line
