Hi everyone,

 

I am new to this group though I have been reading stuffs in visa journey a while now. I noticed that F2B had a recent massive jump to 2014. My PD date is 08/11/2013. Please could someone put me through on how I can move to F2B. I have always been in F1

I think you can only move back to F2B if that was the category you were in when you started the process, but then moved to F1. If you started out as F1, then it's a long wait for you I'm afraid.

Thanks Aplmac. I guess you too have always been in F1 right? Are you in the US now and how long did the entire process last for you?

Yes, I'm also in the same situation as you are. I've been waiting for over seven years, now. The wait has been frustrating with every release of the monthly bulletin.

 

I've got a June 02 2011 Priority Date, and I honestly can't make a guess on when it'll be current.

Can you explain what F2B retention means? I have no idea what that is.

Yes. I got interview letter within 2 months asking for F2B retention.

 

PD 15 May 2011.

 

1 May 2018, send an inquiry to NVC asking for F2B retention.

 

16 May 2018, NVC reply with F2B preference.

 

22 May 2018 got Case completed email (2nd time) with F2B preference.

The 1st time CC which I got in 2017 is F1.

 

1 Jun 2018 send a query to NVC asking about my case status.

 

15 Jun 2018 got email from NVC note that the Consulate will schedule my interview.

 

2 Jul 2018 got interview letter for August 2018.

You should do it now.

 

According to the visa bulletin for September:

- September: F1 is retrogressed to APR 2011

- October: F1 will recover to 8 May 2011

- November: F1 will move 3 weeks.

 

If you send a query to NVC asking F2B retention NOW, you may get an interview in November or December.

 

I wrote a F2B retention guide in the previous page, please read.
