Most of the dowry deaths happen in relatively well-to-do families not in the poverty stricken ones.

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007

I-751 posted on 6th August 2009

Received on 7th August 2009 in VT

I highly doubt any tourist would actually witness a dowry burning...

That gives me a business idea, though.

Come to India, see how the barbarians live! And then I could stage a dowry burning followed by a Hindu mob lynching a Muslim man begging for mercy.

cool, and I can start a similar thing in the US! Come to the USA, to the gang infested streets in *whatever large US city* and watch young boys learn to murder, sell crack, and brutalize people. Also come check out all the sex offenders. And if you like the UK, come see the wonderful yob culture!!

Well the point I'm trying to make incase anyone makes a fuss, is that every country has awful aspects, no matter what country it is. Unfortunately it may be more widespread in India but not every person in India would act like what has been in the news. Otherwise I would not have married Sujeet.

Oh, I know. But there might actually be a market for tragedy-tourism. Remember those people who took guided tours of post-Katrina NOLA?
