Beneficiary Address Change

Hello Everyone,

 

Quick question, My fiance has recently move to a different location.  Do I need to file an address change form for her?

Timeline

Depends if the embassy in their country sends them anything as in the packet 3. Some countries send out information to the beneficiary, some do not. If yours does, then yes you need to make sure it is updated.

08/15/2014 : Met Online

06/30/2016 : I-129F Packet Sent

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married 

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

As Ben & Zian said, I would update it just in case you receive something through the post. I didn't receive a packet 3 but a NVC letter with my initial I-129F application. Hope this helps

12/05/2016 - I-129F received at Lewisville Lockbox

17/05/2016 - Received NOA1 Text/Email Notification - Routed to California Service Center 

25/05/2016 - Received NOA1 Hardcopy - notice date of 16/05/2016

09/06/2016 - Up to date with vaccinations

29/07/2016 - Received NOA2 text/email notification! (74 days) 

05/08/2016 - Received NOA2 Hardcopy (I-797)

09/08/2016 - Sent ACRO Police Certificate Application

11/08/2016- NVC Received packet!

11/08/2016 - NVC Case number assigned on the same day as NVC received! yayyy

05/12/2016-  Marriage
08/02/2017-  sent AOS packet to Chicago via FedEx
20/02/2017-  Received NOA1 Hardcopies for AOS/AP/EAD - notice dates of 13/02/2017
25/04/2017EAD case status changed to " Card being produced"
27/04/2017 - AP and EAD case status changed to "Case Approved"
28/04/2017 - EAD case status changed to " Card was mailed to me"
28/04/2017 -Received NOA2 Hardcopy for EAD/AP

Timeline

Don't do a Change of Address with USCIS, because that one is to communicate with you, the petitioner.

 

I moved your post to the Vietnam forum so that others going through that embassy can share how it is that they contact the beneficiaries. It may not even be needed to update the address with the embassy. If they send the P3 by mail then you, can contact the embassy by email, putting the NVC number (when you get it) on the subject of the email and let them know she has moved.

You can fill out this form on the US Consulate website to notify them of the change in address.
