CR1 Visa

My interview went smooth and it was super easy and quick process.it was lasting not  more than 7mins.I was in and out in 45 mins. At the end of the interview, consular officer told me everything is in good order you will receive your passport back with in two weeks. She also told me your visa will be issued from the date of the medical exam (yesterday) because i had medical day before my interview. It's almost three weeks from the date of my interview  I didn't receive my passport yet.whenever i check online status update on ceac website it seems under administrative processing. She also told me at the end of my interview we have to sent back your case to department of state for further processing. She gave me a white sheet which was in need of some information i already provided her the same day of my interview. She needs information about my email my phone numbers history about visiting countries my all home addresses information about siblings children wife etc occupation education etc 

 

please give me suggestions? I am worried

The bolded text, regardless of the CO saying everything is good and all....This is a little alarming... Don't know why they would say everything is fine and then say they are sending back your case...

What do you think ? Should i write them email ? Or still need to wait ?

You can try to email, don't know if they will really respond more than just automated or generic response.

 

The AP status could just be from them having asked for other info like you said they did and they are reviewing the information.. 

 

They still have your passport thought right?

Man I guess, I am from Pakistan living in Italy with residence permit status. I am mechatronics Engineer. Maybe they are checking security check or back ground check because for back ground check they have to request department of state right? 

Yes she kept my passport . She was like you will receive your passport with in two weeks don't put CD and vaccination record in luggage you have to show on arival at customer border protection.

what do you think now?

That possibly explains it a bit more. Sounds like you're just stuck in the AP then yea for more background/security checks.

 

I wouldn't stress right now, it is hard to say how long that could take.. maybe another week, maybe couple months.. but sounds like you did in fact get approved so now just waiting time..

AP with pp from certain countries takes longer than average.

I am from Pakistan living in Italy . My immigrant visa case is under administrative processing . As I informed on interview date you will receive your passport with in two weeks. It's fourth week going on so far no update . Should I contact embassy about this matter ?

Starting this duplicate thread won't changes the answers given in the other thread. You have to wait for AP.

AP can take months, in the worst case, even years. Unfortunately certain nationalities and people of certain professions have to go through longer waiting periods than others. There isn't anything you can go. You just have to wait it out.

Agree, AP can take a very long time. depends on certain nationalities. contacting them will not do anything. you just have to wait.
