i have googled it, i still can't find where obama blamed the bush administration in a public statement. lots of articles from the blaze, breitbart and daily caller tho..typical.

trump is so wishy washy, like he has no spine..

“You have Russia that’s now there. Russia’s on the side of Assad, and Russia wants to get rid of ISIS as much as we do, if not more, because they don’t want them coming into Russia,” Mr. Trump said in a September 2015 interview with CNN. “Let Syria and ISIS fight. Why do we care?”

In a May 2016 interview on MSNBC, Mr. Trump said the United States had “bigger problems than Assad.” He added, “I would have stayed out of Syria and wouldn’t have fought so much for Assad, against Assad.”

So emphatic was Mr. Trump’s stance on Syria that he disavowed the stance of his own running mate. After the October 2016 vice-presidential debate, when Mike Pence, then governor of Indiana, backed strikes against Mr. Assad, Mr. Trump stated, “I disagree.”

Deflection will always save you. Well done.

Who's deflecting? It's asinine every time the MDL wants to pretend they don't know about something they demand a link or it didn't happen, just because they apparently live under a rock. Some of us have better things to do with our time but fine, take your pick:

And I'll also give you this one(keep in mind that was only 2014!) but that's all you're getting out of me.

just in case any of you are confused as to what i mean about "blaming bush in a public statement"

official statement from trump:

"Today’s chemical attack in Syria against innocent people, including women and children, is reprehensible and cannot be ignored by the civilized world. These heinous actions by the Bashar al-Assad regime are a consequence of the past administration’s weakness and irresolution. President Obama said in 2012 that he would establish a “red line” against the use of chemical weapons and then did nothing. The United States stands with our allies across the globe to condemn this intolerable attack."

I think you were deflecting by going back to the 2008-2009 recession. The point is that Trump has no position on Syria, and sure heck he is not going to upset Putin, when it comes to that. This has nothing to do with Obama or Bush.

We all know where the so-called president stands on these issues.

He doesn't like people who get captured, as he stated in regards to John McCain. He doesn't like losers. He likes winners and he likes to win. At the moment Assad is winning in Syria, thanks to Putin's help. Trump will not run the risk to upset Putin, because he is afraid of the Russians.

trump likes to be able to say whatever he wants to benefit himself, that's about all i know. today he wants to know why obama didn't do anything when he tweeted him way back win urging him not to intervene (and as the article below points out many people agreed with trump on that stance, at the time) as a country, may we continue to go where trump's tweets lead us!

Quote

As former Secretary of State John Kerry told The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg last year, “This notion about the red line being crossed and [Obama’s] not doing anything gained a life of its own.”
And now that the Syrian regime appears to be using sophisticated chemical weapons again, Obama’s refusal to enforce that red line is construed as opening the door to the disaster that is Syria today.
As Goldberg wrote after long conversations with Obama and his closest advisers, the pivotal moment came on Aug. 30, 2013, several days after some 1,400 Syrians were killed with sarin gas on the outskirts of Damascus, when Obama decided to pull back from the brink, and walk away from his red line.

Shortly thereafter, in a surprise deal between Obama and Putin, who was Assad’s key sponsor but who had not yet intervened directly in the war, Assad was forced to acknowledge the chemical arsenal he had never admitted to having before. He allowed inspectors into the country to inventory and remove all that he had, and all that they could find. Some doubts lingered. But there is no doubt the bulk of his stockpiles were taken away and destroyed.
Would military action in August and September 2013 have accomplished the same goal?

Goldberg’s conclusion was equivocal: “History may record Aug. 30, 2013, as the day Obama prevented the U.S. from entering yet another disastrous Muslim civil war, and the day he removed the threat of a chemical attack on Israel, Turkey, or Jordan. Or it could be remembered as the day he let the Middle East slip from America’s grasp, into the hands of Russia, Iran, and ISIS.”
As it happened, that same day, Aug. 30, 2013, I wrote an open letter to Obama in The Daily Beast, making the case that Syria was “not our war.” Only on Tuesday night did I discover Donald Trump was tweeting the same line at the same time—something he now seems to have forgotten.

In the years since, I have grown weary of the line that Obama failed on the chemical-weapons front in Syria. I covered the effects of chemical war in Iraq in the 1980s and early 1990s, and I know that as horrific as the scenes in Syria have been, they pale by comparison to what Saddam Hussein was doing (in tacit alliance, at the time, with the United States and its Gulf Arab allies).
If Assad had been able to keep his up-until-2013-undeclared arsenal, he could have waged a campaign similar to Saddam’s, which included the gassing in 1988 of the largely Kurdish city of Halabja, where as many as 5,000 people are believed to have died.

The lesson learned from the incident was fundamental: Sophisticated nerve agents like sarin and VX are odorless and colorless. They arrive like the Angel of Death passing through the streets, killing you before you have any idea what happened. They are instruments of horror. And once they’ve been used to instill terror, the mere threat that they will be used again is enough to panic whole populations.

That was only in response to the claims that Obama never blamed Bush. I already said Trump won't be able to do much different in Syria than Obama did but I don't think you should draw lines in the sand if you can't keep your word and I definitely don't think(and that goes for both of them) you can make agreements with someone like Putin, it's kinda like the Munich agreement with Chamberlain and Hitler. Not saying Putin is quite Hitler, but about as untrustworthy.

Russia's economy is in shambles, and in times of crisis, war is the best medicine. It rallies up people behind some nationalistic target, it provides employment, and it gets materiel moving, and gets machines going. Putin needs a proxy war, and none better than one against the US.

The only way America can make a difference. short of is going all in, and forcing the Russians to do the same, is to engage in the anti-ISIS campaign. The problem is that the number of civilian casualties will be in the thousands, more than what Assad himself already killed.

In the end, we need a diplomatic solution, but it would take some guts to get Trump to call Putin to the mat and lay out some heavy demands.  For instance, if Russia doesn't play nice in Syria, we should help Ukraine take Crimea back. That is the sort of language Putin understands.

Ummm...there is no way the number of casualties would be higher, Assad already murdered hundreds of thousands. When a democratic western country attacks unfortunately there's always civilian casualties, but those are kept to a minimum with advanced, precise weapons as much as possible. Whether it be Israel, the US, NATO, whatever. Assad is deliberately targeting civilians and the numbers are already numbers there's no way the US could "compete" with. I do agree with your last paragraph though.
