Hi all,

We are having our interview on May 16 but our police certificates is only valid until May 8 (just 6 days sly from our date of interview). Should we get new Cambodia  police certificates? Our P.C. were issued in February of this year. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Congratulations for the interview..

I couldn't find the specific time were the police record are still valid. Usually is less than six months.

But the information of the U.S embassy only say: A certificate issued by the police authorities where you now reside must be of recent date when presented to the consular officer.

I guess it would be better to try to get a recent one.

When I did my interview back in 2013, I emailed the US Embassy about this and they wanted a recent police check. I would say you would need a new, valid one.

I would say you'll need a new one. My NZ police check was ordered in september last year, expired in march, and they have made me request a new one.  It seems odd yours is only valid for 3 months ... its usually 6 months. Maybe check on that.

Thank you all for your advice. Yes we applied for an updated P.C. but since getting a police certificate here in Cambodia takes a month to get it will not be ready for our interview. Our plan is to go ahead with the interview and hope that they will not get an updated one.
