My fiancee just got approved for Visa after interview! So exciting! She said the interview take 30 - 40 minutes. The interviewer only ask her 3 questions, when we met each other, when we start relationship, and why marry in specific state in US. That it. She gave all requirement documents including past relationship photos and flight tickets. Everything was in order and the interviewer approved it and keep her passport to attach visa. Now she have to wait for weeks for DHL to mail her passport with visa attached.

So happy for you both!!!

My fiancee and I were wondering what you mean by the above? I don't understand that question.

Just be sure to gather ALL the requirement documents and plenty of pictures proof of relationship and purchased flight ticket in the past. Also have a little practice with common questions like when and where you guys first meet and when you getting marry. Make sure it the same answer as  original document because they have copy of it from USCIS.

Another to mention, my fiancee told me the interviewer didn't ask us alot questions because we have clean history mean no criminal record, no divorce, no kids, no past visa rejected. If one of you have it then be prepare the interviewer might ask about that.

We had to reschedule the interview date! She had an issue with her birth certificate, the Reniec in Tacna would not certify it (which is required). Instead of using the plane tickets that we had purchased for the interview date, she was able to use this trip to deliver her birth certificate to the Reniec in Lima, which fixes her birth certificate. She was also able to pick up her medical exam results while there too. We emailed the embassy as necessary and they sent us a link for how to reschedule. She should be receiving her birth certificate this week, once she obtains it, she will have all the documents required. We will then select a date available from the options. I will keep my timeline up to date! If you are reading this always remember.. You can't be prepared enough!!!

That is a bummer the Reniec in Tacna would not verify it.  I mentioned this to my fiance and asked him to be sure to get 2-3 certified copies. That is good the embassy let you reschedule, hopefully the wait is almost over. :)

I was going to try and go for the interview, but with my work schedule August and September will be bad time to take off (that is when we are hoping to have his interview). So, I am just going to plan on taking a trip to Lima in early July!

Hi everybody ,

My fiance and I received the Notification saying they already sent it to the embassy in Lima, so we are waiting for the package 3 ... but I would like to start with the documents and I have some questions:

1)About criminal records > Antescedentes penales  are for national or international use we have those differents. (some say is national others that is international)

2) Did you send the documents.. like affidavit physically to your fiance(e) or just email them?

Thank you !

The I-134a Affadavit of Support is supposed be originally signed as well as the supporting documents within it. (Live ink signatures.) I sent originals of the I-134a form, bank statement/letter, employer letter, anything that contains a signature, you should have an original.

I sent copies of pay stubs, w-2, .. Etc. A print screen or statement of any money in retirement accounts etc. Showing amount, persons name, accounts, etc. I May be forgetting some things but its late and im sure you know what documents you need for the I 134a. I sent my fiancee a big envelope via USPS to a Serpost in Lima. The envelope contained everything in it from the list of "What to send your fiancee once the petition is approved" on the K1 Visa Step by Step guide on this website.

As for the Criminal Records. Obtain the exact documents from the list that I attatched to an earlier post. If I remember correctly you need the antescendetes Penales at National Level and Judicial Level. Those are documents #5 and #6 on the list. If you need, print the list out, take it with you to the office where you obtain these documents, point and tell them, I need this, and this. Hopefully they will understand.

Thank you thank you thank you so much! Visa was approved for sure. Interview was quick and easy. My fiancee took her old passport and her AuPair documents (from when she was in the US previously) . The interviewer asked her questions about that, how long she was in the US, why she left. When we met and how we met. And asked for divorce papers, even though neither one of us have ever been married. That is all.

Hello, I want you to know that I did search for information but can't really seem to find anything within the last 3-4 years. I suspect things may have changed. We are getting ready for the interview in Peru. We have received an Email with instructions on what we need to do but I have a few questions. I found a post that is pretty informative but it is from 2013. The link is here.

Pachacuti states you will pay the processing fee AT the embassy before the interview? Is this still the case? The instructions we received seems to be a bit different. It says something about a deposit slip that she will need to bring to ScotiaBank for cancellation?

How many times will she need to travel to Lima? She lives in southern Peru and will need to fly back and forth etc. Will only 2 trips be required? One for medical exam? And one for the interview?

Has anyone attended the interview Solo? I'm reading mixed things about the petitioner is recommended, highly recommended, and not a big deal. I'm going to try to make it for sure, but I'd love to hear your input.

Any other general advice given would be greatly appreciated!!!! ;)

Thanks everyone so much!! I'm not sure what I would do without this website. It's great that people want to help each other out with things like this.

Just curious how long was it between receiving your NOA2 and receiving the NVC letter? Still currently waiting on our NVC letter :/

Yes, we actually just did that. It is the step directly before scheduling your interview date online. The fee is $265 and we paid it online with a card. There is an option to pay with cash and that is 907.00 PEN. I assume if you choose the cash option then you will need to bring the cash to your interview.

It is necessary to do for program the interview, or I need to wait for the letter with the instructions???
