Could you tell us what they asked him to provided when he got the N-14?

Maybe those in our situation can prepare those documents and bring to the interview?  Thanks.

Guys I stopped the shipment they told I will receive it tomorrow.

And guys if you checked no and you have been cited for even speedy ticket this is a big deal.. Ask me why ? I will tell ..

My  friend checked no and when he went to the interview he asked them to correct it, but the problem they delay his case and gave him Form N-14 request more documents.

It is a big deal you guys have to check yes and send police record for speeding ticket as well as a certified copy of court disposition,,,, see the attach file they gave him a form to bring these two document  ...

The same guy told me some one sent what they asked but they did not received and when he checked the website , his cased was denied..

Accordingly, all need to send everything or at least I am gonna do'''

I am gonna send two photos even though I am living in the USA ....collect as mu documents as you could...if someone  left the interview with request to submit documents  that will be miserable..

Coz even if you call there is no real person answer it is all operator....

Sorry I missed the attachment initially.

If the speeding ticket was paid in full and never went to court, is there still a court disposition?

yes, he just got  it today ...he gave them the receipt during the interview showing he paid the ticket.... now I am worried  how show  proof of residency ...some people were asked for a proof of residency ...they are single and apply under 5 years eligibility ....the IO asked for a proof for tw0 weeks living in a hotel first time came to The USA ...this unbelievable....

you have to report all the places/addresses where you have lived. gaps will be taken seriously, this is not a small thing. small traffic violations (not like serious one's with repeat violations, etc. that point towards bad moral character) are minor and do not need to be reported.

i lived in my friend's place for one months between my old and news lease and I reported it. You don't want to open up a field for assumptions where you might have been during that period.

Relax, this is not a race.

I think you did not see the attach file I posted here...They asked my friend to go back home and send police record and court disposition for his speeding ticket otherwise they will deny his application. I think you intend not to disclose these documents coz many people here said not a big deal..

Disclose police report and court disposition are important without it won`t be approved...

By the way I have friend they asked him to send evidences from court and police station about parking ticket....

and his wife had interview at the same time they did not ask her about anything...it is luck and depend on the officer some they ask for evidences other don`t ..

On the other hand; I listed all places I lived in no gaps, and places without lease I prepared all letters of my car insurance I received there and bank statements too

     Thanks

Just to be clear, I never, ever, had any moving violation, let alone speeding. I only said what I saw on the n400 instructions:

sdfsdf.png

You`re right 100%, we saw examples of people were sent back home with form N-14 even though the instructions say the opposite.

I would prepare for every thing to avoid delay...

In the interview do I need any proof for places I lived in for two moths with friend till I moved to my apartment. 2012 I spent two months with my friend, and 2014 I spend 3 months with other friend coz I moved to different city till I moved to my apartment. Are they asking for proof ???

usually the proof of residency applies to :

- showing proof of residency within the last 90 days in the state you live in when you apply for N-400 -

- showing proof of residency when married to US Citizen and applying at the 3 year mark - this is to show bona fide marriage cohabitation with US Citizen spouse which is required - this does not apply to you.

as far as the addresses you have lived in the past 5 years, I have not heard / read on here about anything around showing proof of residency - you will need to show your tax transcripts which will list if you had lived in different states in the same year....

your residency history will show up on your FBI check anyway -

so as far as you , you would probably have to show proof that you live at your current address, which could be driver's license / state issued id.

As a side note, there was a case on here where the person's FBI check showed her living at multiple addresses.

During her interview the IO told her she needs to show proof she only resided in one place at a time, which was with her husband - she was applying at the 3 year mark based on marriage to US Citizen -

she was claiming she had no idea how utilities and a lease at a diff place had been placed in her name - regardless, the IO officer sent her home asking for more proof.

I am not an immigration lawyer / specialist.

I had a speeding ticket and put "no" on the form. I didn't know it was classed as a citation until after I mailed my application.

l told the IO about it at my interview, he asked if it was over $500 and I told him it was $200.50. He said it doesn't matter, I had the paperwork with me but he didn't ask to look at it.

Every ones experience is different so yes, go prepared with all your information. I had a bag full of papers, tax returns, marriage and divorce certificates, court papers from my speeding fine, etc....and didn't need any of them, but I'm glad I took them as you never know what they will ask for.

What if some one lived in a district for 4 years and 10 months then he or she moved to a different house but at the same district .Is it okay to file ? even though he did not live in the new house three months before filing? the distance between old house and new one 1 mile. Same district, city, state ????

Instructions says:

Residence in Your USCIS District

You must have lived in the USCIS district in which you apply for citizenship for at least three months before you file your application.

You must have lived in the USCIS district in which you apply for citizenship for at least three months before you file your application.

Two things.

1. Official Answer with link - According to § Sec. 316.1 Definitions. (Section revised effective 11/28/2011, 76 FR 53764)

"Service district means the geographical area over which an office of USCIS ordinarily has jurisdiction for purposes of naturalization."

2. In general, an applicant for naturalization must file his or her application for naturalization with the State or Service District that has jurisdiction over his or her place of residence. The applicant must have resided in that location for at least three months prior to filing.

As long you (or your friend) live in the SAME city, then you are okay. Some states have several districts within the same state. For example:

  • California - 4 districts
  • Texas - 3 districts
  • New York - 2 districts

Some districts are quite small. District 3, for instance, contains just New York City. Others are medium sized like District 5, which serves Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia. Still others cover larger territories. District 15, with an office in Kansas City, encompasses Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, part of Illinois, and part of Wisconsin. And more...

Altogether, there are 26 USCIS districts, each of which is served by a district office. You can take a look at the map of all the USCIS regions and district here.
