My husband and I have always held separate bank accounts, so in instead of those I submitted extra info such as vet bills for our pet, recipts showing we purchased furniture together and our cell phone bills as we held a joint plan for a short while.

Utility bills if you're both named on them are also a good source of evidence.

The things is that me and my spouse don't pay for utilities because they are indluded on the rent since we live in school dorms cause my partner goes to school there,

We had a phone bill together at some point but not anymore cause I moved to a different carrier and also we used to have a joint bank account but his money from the school was mixing from mine so I needed my own bank account to organize my money and separate from his school money.

I don't know what else to include on the proof.

If they require further evidence they will ask for it and will specify what they are looking for. If you can get a hold of any copies of the old joint bank account of cell plan it's always helpful, but not immediately necessary. It sounds like you have lots of evidence already accumulated. I looked over the list again, you do not need to include copies of your passports with the i751.

I do have the signed documents when we got the joint accounts like two years ago but should I submit those even though we don't have a joint account anymore?

And we have a join credit card well I'm an authorized user of his credit card but I don't know how I can get the a confirmation from the bank about that?

It's just another source of evidence of a bonafide marriage, from then until now. It's always helpful. As for the credit cards, does your name appear on statements? Or you may be able to call and ask for something in writing from them with a date you were added as an authorized user. But if you can't then do not worry at all. You have plenty of evidence already, try not to stress too much. It's already a long and arduous process.

Then I'll add the copies of when the had the joint bank accounts. Another question sorry the last one: So how long did the whole process take you? This is very stressful.

It's just a waiting game, I haven't received my new GC yet, I've only just submitted the forms last month. Within the first month of sending in your i751 you will receive a NOA1 extending your greencard by a further year and not long after a letter for a biometrics appointment. At the moment people are waiting between 9 and 16 months. California seems to be faster than Vermont at the moment, but processing times change all the time. Good Luck on your journey!

Also, you can print out from the internet "Living Wills" for each other and have those notarized at your county court clerk's office. That's good proof, too.

We included copies of the credit cards that we have jointly.  We also included copies of our wills and living wills.  As to the bank accounts, we also have separate accounts, but we are each co-owner of the other accounts, so we included documents from the credit union showing her as co-owner of my account, and myself as co-owner of her account.  We also showed joint car insurance.

Good Luck!

Okay! Thank so much for all of your help. It was very helpful. On the USICS page when I check the earliest application date that I could submit my documents and it says april 29th which is a saturday but I'm planning to mail on May 2 and I should be fine right? I should be fine with mailing it on the 2nd?

Just wanted to know that because I'm waiting for a paper from one of our very good firends who knows us but they are very busy with their work so they need time to write that.

What do you think if I mail in on May 2nd?

My green card expires on July 28. So from APril 29 it's 90 days. So between the time frame of 90 days I can send that?

BecaUSE ON THE uscis WEBSITE THEY MAKE IT SEEM LIKE YOU NEED TO SEND IT IN THE EXCACT 90 DAYS BEFORE THE GREEN CARD EXPIRES SO THAT'S A LITTLE UNCLEAR TO ME. THANKS SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING.

You cannot sent it before the 90 days begin. You can send it anytime within those 90 days. but also not after the 90 days expire. May 2nd is fine.

BTW, this may be a silly question - but, I'll try. So the documents need to be sent no earlier than 90 days before the expiration date of the "green card".

Should the documents also be *dated* no earlier than 90 days? I.e. when filling out and signing the I751 form, should we put a date that's less than 90 days from that time? I guess we could always do that regardless, just "to be safe" but curious as to the official answer.
