Hey,

we are applying for our K1 visa in the next couple weeks. I was denied a B1 about a month ago because we were misinformed.

Can I try to get a B2 visa whilst I wait for my K1?!? As proof that I'll come back? Or is that stupid? I'm just trying to visit my boyfriend whilst this 6 - 8 months process takes its time.

If I go to the B2 interview with the NAO1 and say I just want to visit him etc.. what will happen?

Has anyone ever done this before?

Thanks.

Probably better that he visits you or you meet somewhere in the middle outside of the US. The CO will find it difficult to grant you a B2 with you having a pending immigration petition, which shows you have immigration intent. At the end of the day, it's up to you to decide whether or not you'd like to spend that $160 but definitely choose wisely :)

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

I tried that and I was denied. It was prior to our K1 application but we were already engaged. I was honest about it and informed them right from the start that I am going to visit my fiance so i won't have any problems in the future. I knew it was a slim chance so I didnt really expect much. I just tried.
