I have a question... my lawyers received everything from NVC we just got 1-130 approved 1month ago and he told me to pay online. I asked about 1-601a and he said to wait about 9 months because that's how long NVC takes to process and he Asked for tax records and affidavit of support.

Did you guys send all that to NVC before applying for 1-601a or after?

We paid IV and AOS fees first. As proof of payment for these is required for submission of I-601a.

What category are you ?

Short answer to your question is we applied for I-601a first. We have not sent affidavit of support with Tax records yet. However, our attorney did request tax record already.

Yes he said I would need to send tax records and affidavit of support and go through NVC first but from the people I have known they apply for I-601a first then go through the whole support thing.

im not sure what you mean under what category.. I'm petitioning my husband if that's what you mean... I'm not good at this stuff lol

From what I know we had to send affidavit of support, taxes etc. and pay fees first. (We are working with a lawyer) once they received payment we started working on the I601a. It took us a few months to create a statement of hardship and gather supporting documents. We just submitted waiver about 3 weeks ago. Now its a waiting game.

Sounds like what my lawyer said... I'm guessing either way is fine... I feel relieved now Thank you
