Oh I bit the bullet and got the Rosetta Stone cd on how to speak arabic. OMG I"m addicted to it!!! It's wicked fun!!! So far if I hear the word I can tell what it is, but not the other way around. I can now pick out a horse from a dog, a girl from a boy, a car from an airplane, jumping from swimming, etc.

Ahlan wa sahlan means welcome. In Egyptian colloquial, izzayek? or inta amaleh ey? means how are you? How are you in traditional Arabic would be, keif halek? or keif halish? for a woman.

I know a guy here that was born in Lebanon and his name is Ramzi. Do you think he's muslim? Is Ramzi a muslim name?

It's defintely more Lebanonese, some times in Egypt. Hard to say it is a Muslim name or not. It's not a traditionally arabic classical name.

ty for clarifying that. the person that told me the phrase (and what it supposedly meant) was not an arabic speaker.
