Why is our case not being touched?

It's been almost two months since we received our NOA1's for both I-130 and I-129F but our case hasn't been touched since then. What I don't understand is that some people have in their timelines this mentioing of their cases being touched just a few days after receiving their NOA1's. Why is that not happening with us or are we not checking the status correctly? We do have an account with uscis.gov and can log into our account to check our status but it doesn't show anything new. What does touching actually means? Our processing centre is Vermont. Any response in this regard would be appreciated.

Visa approved at interview but stuck in AP for over a year :(

AP/Security clearance finally finished: June 6th, 2008

Montreal Embassy requested police cert/meds again as they have expired : May 30th, 2008

HI,

don't worry about your cases not being touched. My 130 was never touched before approval. And my 129F waws touched after about 4 months for the first and only time.

Touched means that when you check your case online in your portfolio, the "last updated" date has changed. It doesn't necessarily mean that they did anything, it means they looked at it, put it on a different pile etc.

Feb 27 2006 - AOS form and IV Bill issued

Mar 23 2006 - AOS and IV Bill sent to NVC

Yeah I wouldn't worry about it because each case is suppose to be "unique". So some get touched and some don't. Sometimes I think they just bumped the keyboard thus giving the impression that a case has been touched!=)

October 19, 2006 2nd Immigration Interview - APPROVED

5-20 business days for the Green Card to arrive, maybe I'll be back to see my family before Christmas?

It's hard to wait to get the next "touch" and as everybody says, you don't always get one anyway, just the approval, we were waiting 6 months before our second "touch" and now we are waiting for the approval. The I-130 do take a lot longer than the K-1's so you will need patience

I agree with the others some cases are never touch (ours was not touched) and then we were approved. Good luck and hopefully not much longer you will have good news.
