Hi,

Its been 20 months since we filled for ROC.We just got a letter for additional evidence.

it is asking us to send joint bank account past 3 years. We had one back in 2013 and we closed it in 2014.After that we never opened a joint checking account.

We did open credit card in 2016 but like I am listed as authorized user.Does that even count as joint?

We have Best Buy credit card since 2014 also I am authorized user.

As evidence can I send emails?Like we have lot of from like family and friends inviting us to places, dinners, etc or casual convo. It is from various time dating back to 2013 till present. Can I print those out?

I already sent them ton of evidence now they want more.

Im freaking out about joint account thing it was bolded in the letter so its like we must send them.It was personal decision we made to have seperate coz joint was not working for us.

Can you guys give tips on what else can I send?

You should send them a letter and explain to them that you don't HAVE a joint bank account.  Explain your reasons.  Plenty of people don't share bank accounts.

Don't send them a bunch of other stuff.  They obviously want to see if you have a joint bank account.  Remember...just because you don't have what they are specifically looking for, that does not mean you will not get the ROC.  It will probably mean you will have an interview, but you can pass that!

It is always important to address the specific thing that USCIS asks for.  If you don't have it, you don't have it.

I keep seeing people freaking out because they don't have kids.  Not everyone has or wants or can have kids.  It's not a show stopper.

Good luck.  This has been a very long journey for you!

You don't have to send them what they already sent but send similar stuff covering the last 20 months. 2016 tax transcripts; if you got any loans together; benefit statements, insurance renewals, trip itineraries, photos, etc. In addition; if there is something you didn't send in the original package, now is the time to send those too.

Your signature it says you confirmed your file is now with the local office. Could you tell if they asked you to mail the RFE package to your local office or the service center? I wonder why they did not just schedule an interview for you after this long. 1 hour interview and done, now you need to wait longer.

Did you also apply for naturalization?

For what it's worth, I was called in straight for an interview (albeit after 5 months). I think it is likely for similar reasons. I'm an authorised user on my husband's CC but it isn't joint. We don't have a lease because we live with his mother in law, same for utility bills. We sent life insurance, health insurance, car insurance, gym memberships including check ins, joint loans, car purchases, joint bank account, and so on. We also sent letters explaining why we didn't have what we did with the original packet. I guess because we included the letters then, they just sent it straight off to interview. If you reply with a letter saying you don't have it, I expect you will have an interview too to discuss why.

I just started my roc process but my mom just got interviewed for her after waiting for over 2 years too. At first she got a request for more evidence and then an interview. The reasoning the officer gave her was that since so much time has passed they want to make sure everything is still the same ...

Follow the advice above: new irs transcripts, for the past 2 years. A letter explaining that you don't have a joint account anymore. It is normal to have separate accounts in many successful marriages.

Send what you have: you have shared credit card accounts. There is no such thing as a joint credit card (I have four shared with my wife), but just one of us has the finantial responsability, the other is an authorized user.

Though we included them all and listed them as joint credit card accounts (they know what you mean) in our ROC package. No interview.

If you have renewed your drivers license, it wouldn't hurt to send the new ones (we did that too, the new issued licenses with the same address or updated address when we moved).

Look in the ROC guide, there is a list with various items you may already have and aren't thinking of.
Write a note explaining why you do not have what they want. They want to see financial mingled accounts so

explain why you have to mingled your bank accounts.

Besides the things on the ROC list you can also submit wills, power of attorney, living wills, photos from

trips and with family.

Even if what you sent isn't enough, if you include letters of explanation of why you don't have certain primary evidence, you won't be wasting time with an RFE and they can call you in right away for an interview and sort it out.

Agree with Sukie. However a joint bank account would have helped a lot.  That is one thing that we wanted to have along with joint IRS returns.  Only sent 6 months statements and had no problems.  Also sent 3 years of IRS transcripts.

Thank you all for your replies. We had joint account but closed it so I will send them that all statments I think we had it for like 7 months back in 2013.

Yea we have credit coz we get points so we use it for everything then we just calculate what we each spent and transfer funds from each of our own checking accounts.

We just signed a new lease for apartment in FL coz we are moving in 2 months I will send that as well.

Is there such a thing how much evidence to send like is there too much lol i literally could print out all txt msgs we exchanged also I have ton of emails from his parents to us on various topics that is how usually they send emails to us to like come for dinner or smthg.

I also have direct emails his parents communicating with my parents and me transleting.

I want to try to avoid interview coz we are moving and i dont want to have to fly back from FL for an interview.

We have ton of evidence in terms of various things but yea just not that joint account past 3 years.

We traveled to TX,NY,FL three times, also I was going to Vegas for a busniess conference and my husband was gonna go and we booked flight however he ended up not going but can I still send them flight info.

Also my parents came to visit so we have pictures together and his parents Ill send those too.

I think this is coming after my Senator contacted them althgouh they told him i am in proccess and have no updates I think it pushed it for them to look at my case.

That doesn't really make sense Queen of Blades, you sent tons of evidence, a joint cc is not going to make a difference.

You did not get a RFE, right?

A certain fraction of ROC cases is sent to interview - you were one of them.

The OP's RFE is a different story.
