Physical after 1 year ban

My husbands is in Mexico, landed in Jaurez today to be exact. He has been gone for a year due to admitting to smoke marijuana while in the US, I repeat he did not test POSITIVE. For the last few weeks we have been so confused. We sent a email to reopen case and was told to wait till after March 2017 and go for a new physical. We called March 3rd to reopen case cause that again was what we were told to do. They told us a request was submitted to USCIS and we were waiting for an information letter for him to take with him to his new immigration physical. After waiting the 10 days and no answer we resubmitted it again, only to be told a few days ago that we would not get a response because a information letter would not be sent to us until his new physical was done and submitted and reviewed. I was told that he would only need to take the for he was given at his last interview....the one that stated "return after March 2017 for a new physical".  I am wanting to know has anyone been through the exact same situation and can tell me any and what new forms or updated form need to be sent in, passport, any calls or email that need to be sent. I have read many cases up here and they all seem to say different. He is in Mexico, He was approved for an I601 Waiver, we are married since 2010 and have 1 child who is 4 now, he did not test positive on admitted under oath smoking marijuana. Just including this info incase it this would make a different. We were never told in any other info from what I have already posted. Thanks in advance for any help!

Did you get a letter from them ? Im going through the same procedure i have given the 4 tests and now waiting for the letter

No after waiting for information letter for over a month to go to appointment. We were then told he would not receive the letter till after his physical. After his physical he went to information window and asked for new information letter. He went on and scheduled new physical just bring letter they gave you at 1st physical showing you needed a new physical. He was also told at second interview that he would need a new waiver I-601 not I-601a which he already had. We submitted that late April and still waiting. Processing time for this is 8 to 12 months. So he will be gone another year more than likely. they are just know working on June of 2016. So frustrating cause they never told us this till second interview.
