Are you guys sure that whenever somebody applies for N400 while ROC is pending, the ROC is going to be tied with N400?

In my case, I applied for ROC on April 2017 like you guys, and for N400 on April 2018. But my case is been the same, no transfers, no updates. Most of us regardless of N400 eventual application are in the same situation kinda in the limbo waiting for the 10 yr GC as CSC seems to be moving along. Only 5 people out of 40 on the spreadsheet have been approved so far.

I think they handle cases separately and if N400 comes first, then they recall ROC from the other office and put them together.

In my case, my field office is slower than CSC so by the time they get to the N400 the ROC shall be approved.

Thoughts?

Honestly, it's hard to predict what USCIS will always do. The thing is, this whole case of applying for N400 with ROC pending is relatively a new thing for them, as processing times didn't used to be this long before. There have been all kinds of cases reported, some people did end up getting ROC processed before n400, but I think those were cases where their ROC had already begun to be processed when they applied for N400, and so before the case file was pulled form the ROC pile, an officer had already "picked it up" to work on it.

So it's very hard to predict what will happen to an individual. However, in most cases (including mine), when we applied for n400, we got an update on ROC saying our file was transferred to NBC. This for me was a telltale sign that my ROC was no longer in queue at CSC. Did you get any such notification? If not, then maybe yours will be processed as you predict. Honestly, who knows with this process. It's all a big pile of confusion.

I remember you are in SJ office, right? We are in the same boat actually. I filed N400 a month after you while my ROC is still pending. Maybe when you get your N400 interview, I can have some hope. Did you get any chance to make infopass to USCIS to talk to an IO?

Yup, San Jose! I did go for an infopass appointment in early June. But it was just to get the I-1551 stamp in my passport. Didn't really ask any questions.

You are following the San Jose field office thread for N400, right? It's how I've been keeping track of when to expect any movement on my case:

hello everybody,

I filed for my I-751 in April 2017, in June 2018 I got transfer from CSC to Nebraska Service Center. Today I Got a letter from the Nebraska center saying that considering delays my status will be extended for a total of 18 months starting from June 2017. I thought to be almost there...should I get frustrated ???

I see that on previous posts, but it seems they were from Texas Center which probably is faster.. I haven't seen no approvals at this time from Nebraska, oh well..

Tier 2 agent told me all expiring extension letters will be having a new letter

I’m sorry you have to deal with this. Could you give us a list of what you sent before? So we can help add more things to it?

I would send in

1) health insurance together from when to got married to now

2) car insurance and any other insurance you may have like home or renters

3) any new leases or utility bills like gas and phone bills you have and if you didn’t send them for your whole marriage time period would do that now.

5) new tax return for last year

4) copies of statements of any credit cards your have together from the beginning to now

5) more pictures and make sure it’s pictures of you both with groups of different people

6) copies of any tickets or anything like that showing trips you’ve taken together

7) if you have any documents showing you’re each other beneficiary I would send that in

8 ) reciepts of any gifts you may have gotten each other.

and if the things that you sent in weren’t for the whole time you were married I would send those in again showing the whole time period Of your marriage

hope this helps. I’ll post more if I can thinking of it.
