Wow. One can only imagine how much that's going to cost USCIS to replace 8K+ green cards.

Unfortunately, I’m one of them. So , here’s a part of the letter I received from the mail yesterday,

“On May 14, 2018, USCIS began recalling approximately 8,543 Permanent Resident Cards (also known as Green Cards) due to a production error. The Green Cards were for approved Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions of Residence for spouses of U.S. citizens. The cards were printed with an incorrect “Resident Since” date and mailed between February and April 2018.”

The problem is I’ll be having my biometrics for N400 next week and I need the green card so I emailed them and they’ve been very responsive and apologetic which is good. They also said I can give the green card on the uscis office instead of mailing since I’ll be at the biometrics. Ugh 😑 Anyone affected too?

I know right ?! That’s crazy! The good thing is they’ve been very apologetic and responsive. Also, our status wouldn’t change and they’ll be giving us a new card in three weeks span. But I can only imagine the $$ they’ll be spending on it.

You mean us... the tax payers.

That’s right. Actually the money is coming from us through the fees we’ve paid.

I’m sorry to hear that. At least all is well and you’ll get your correct card in about two weeks.

You can take the 2-year gc if you still have it for your biometrics.

My 10-year hadn’t arrived yet and I did my biometrics for the N400 with the expired green card. They didn’t say anything or even asked to see the extension letter.

In two other threads I've seen one CSC i751 filer in March 2017 receive approval in March 2018, and an April 2017 VSC filer who subsequently moved and had his case transferred to CSC who received approval in late April 2018.

That seems like some positive news, in general, for CSC April 2017 filers.

Our NOA is 4/21/17, VSC.

Yesterday, we had our INFOPASS appointment in Fairfax, Virginia.  Very courteous, professional, and patient agent assisted us.  He entered an I-551 (green card form number) stamp in our passports extending permanent residence for 12 months, into May 2019.  He kept our expired Green Cards and explained the stamp in the passports served as a Green Card equivalent.  (We had mistakenly believed that we would get a new visa stamp.)

Yesterday, one of our daughters went to her 2d biometrics appointment at the Application Support Center and had her fingerprints and photo taken again.  Hopefully, this was the only hold up to getting 10-Yr Green Cards approved.

I noticed quite a few approvals for our April group on the April Spreadsheet.  Quite a few VSC approvals for May also.

Hi, everyone

I just received the message in this morning that they are producing my card.

Submitted : Apr 25, 2017

My Extension letter for 1year will expire early July... Should I get a Infopass to get the I-551stamp?? since the message say

it may take up to 120 days :(

We are producing your card and will mail it to you

You do not need to do anything at this time

We will mail your Green Card, employment authorization document (EAD), or combo card (EAD and advance parole) to the address you gave us. It may take up to 120 days to deliver your new card.

If your mailing address changes, update your address with us.

It's a joke how slow the CSC is. Not a single approval yet I see all these approvals for the VSC from people who filed after me.

For what it's worth, a year ago CSC was approving cases within about 9 months while VSC was approving cases within about 13 months. Just luck of the draw here.

It’s like picking a line at the grocery store... only we don’t get to pick our lines here. LoL

When we started our journey we were stuck at the Texas service center when we should have been at the California center and of course Texas was backed up and California was blazing fast.
