Sorry to ask more questions. I just want to make sure I will do my application right. Me and my husband wants to travel to Europe and getting a visa since I still have my home country passport will be a bit of a hassle.

I want to know if once you file the N-400 (u said u filled it online, is it more convenient?), did u call anybody in USCIS to inform that you have already applied for N-400 too?

I really appreciate your help. Thanks

Update on this:

I called and talked to a tier 2 today.

He said they case was transferred to NY field office, and it takes 4-8 weeks to “receive and review”. And the field office will let me know if I need to interview or they need more stuff.

Now I started to think maybe I’m already picked to be interviewed but he didn’t want to tell me? (Or I’m just being paranoid again...sigh)

You are just paranoid! Lol. It is all will be GREAT! I can feel it :D

I saw somewhere if you see your name was updated that means you will be seeing approval in the next few days. Hope it's true

I just learned about a different USCIS account (https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ ) that gives you the history and current status of your application. Check with both receipt numbers.

  • I just tried signing up for that other site and here are some of the latest updates. The extra one i see is that along with my name, they corrected my date of birth. Maybe it is just what is updated/checked by the officer as they go along the case?
