I checked, and the same thing happened today. It must be a technical glitch or perhaps they are shuffling cases around, logging relevant numbers etc.

Yeh, it's better to get those update than nothing for 8 months : )

Weird!! Hopefully it's just a glitch. Maybe they don't update the system properly

Update on the date change from 2/24 to 2/27 (case received by the local office)

I talked to a tier 2 this morning and he was surprised that I was able to check the number on I-797 online. He said that “oh! This is new...”

He told me in their system, my case was “moved” to VSC on 2/26 (I’m a VSC filer, so I’m confused why it was moved to VSC). And he did check online with my I-797 case number and he was like “maybe our system isnt updated yet”.

so he told me to call back on Friday to check where exactly my case is...

Update on this:

I called and talked to a tier 2 today.

He said they case was transferred to NY field office, and it takes 4-8 weeks to “receive and review”. And the field office will let me know if I need to interview or they need more stuff.

Now I started to think maybe I’m already picked to be interviewed but he didn’t want to tell me? (Or I’m just being paranoid again...sigh)

Yes, that's what I'm thinking too. Let's hope that we just get approved. Mine was transferred to local office as well.

So i am trying to make an infopass appointment but it is proving really difficult. My extension letter expires in 4 weeks and if i don't have my card approved or be able to make an appointment then i will not be able to continue with my job. Anyone else in the same boat? I filed March 28 but decided to post in here since it was nearly April.
