Case Was Received At My Local Office

On February 27, 2018, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number ********, at your local office.

Indeed, I checked the other number and my case was too transferred as of today. 

 

My guess is that they are overwhelmed with petitions from DACA and other programs, so they are just sending all the cases to local offices, which are less busy. This might actually be bad for N-400 processing times, which have been so much faster in recent past. Are there other plausible reasons?

Thanks for the info JeanneSs and Congratulations 😊 I hope it would be my turn as well since mine was received at a local office at 2/24/18 too.  Read a post last night regarding there’ll be an interview if being transferred and felt confused about that.

This transfer of files to local offices looks to be a real thing, and probably affects almost all of the cases, at least at the California Center. I received my notice of file transfer, below. I will be adding a "LOCAL OFFICE" field to our April tracking sheet. Please go into the tracking sheet and add your local office to the blank cells. At this point, any backlog at the local offices would appear to be way more important than the overall backlog at CSC.

 

Does anyone know if Vermont Center applications are being forwarded to local offices, as well?

It actually moved from 02/24/18 to 02/27/18 as well FYI. Don’t know if this means I’ll be one who will get an interview??

Government workers really are the bottom of the barrel in terms of intellect and work ethic. I understand that low-to-middling IQ, and low-agency people need jobs, but they should be allocated them in less responsible and impactful fields.

Mine also changed from 25 to 27. I don't think it means an interview. My NOA is dated 04/17/2017

But then again there is still no official announcement from their website. I will not assumed until they have official announcement about this transfers chaos!

 

Tier1 and Tier2 officer can also see what we can see online. So it useless to ask them, unless you want to make them a service request about your case. LOL!

I really hope so. There's one thread here in ROC who was told by his lawyer that it meant he will have an interview...Anyway, let's see what happens. If that's the case, I'll really gonna bring my 19-month old son at the local office who will run around there for sure  Ugh! Will try calling my local office again.

This is getting interesting. Just had another update on the I797 receipt number case was approved today whilst card is being produced on the CR1-89 receipt number! Lol

So how can case be approved today and card produced yesterday? Lol

Maybe the office who reviewed your case still had your file on his desk and he thought to himself "Oh, I forgot to update this one. Let me do it real quick and close this file..." lol I assume that's what it was.

What's funny also is that I didn't get notified of the status update when it was updated online. I had it set up to send me a text message/email. I guess I will continue to check 20 times a day LOL

Makes sense. Well let’s see. I’ll probably wait for a week then then let’s see what happens from there.
