Sent my wife's packed in the Friday before Easter. Was received Monday the 17th. She got the NOA on May 5 and just received Biometric interview schedueld for May 26. Question though - we put my moms address for mailing address as we are in the process of moving to a new condo in the Chicago area. We put current address for physical address and all evidence lists our current Chicago address. Biometrics was scheduled in Grand Rapids, Michigan as mom lives in SW Michigan. Can the wife just walk in early to the Chicago office with her letter? Or are we stuck having to make the trek back to Michigan? Why would they schedule based on mailing address and not physical address? You'd think they would schedule based on physical address.

@zlund1 Technically Mailing address means they will send to your mailing address all the mail correspondent of your application because that's what you provided to your application as a mailing address.

I finally received my NOA

NOA dated 5/10/2017 (!)

Receipt date 4/11/2017 (!)

Filed in Vermont on 4/8/2017

My card expired on 5/7 but since I got the notice dated 5/10 extending my status for 1 year I assume it does not matter. Now waiting for biometrics, hope it does not take another month :(

i want to ask if anybody can help me with this... my son and i came here to the US on the same date with CR1 and CR2 visa,  both of our GC expiration are the same.. it says on I-751 that i can put him on Part 5 as my dependent,, so thats what i did.. we also pay biometric for him (his 8 years old).. it just makes me confused because when i recieve my NOA1 the reciept notice they just put my name on it not mentioning my sons name and says my green card is extended for one year... it makes me so worried because i didnt know if my sons GC also included to the NOA1 they sent me..

Very good questions. Hopefully the admins will have an answer. I'm curious to know too.

From the sounds of it, she can just take her letter to the office local to her and walk-in. They may be able to accommodate her then or give her a time to come back. Either way, she'll go this week just in case for some reason they can't and we have to make the drive to Michigan next Friday.

So I'm back! I received my paperwork back last Thursday, May 11.

For future references, I sent my paperwork to VSC and here's the timeline for my case:

04/22 - Mailed I-751 paperwork

04/24 - Received by USCIS VSC

05/11 - Received rejected paperwork due to incorrect (missing) biometric fee

05/15 - Re-mailed I-751 paperwork with correct fees

05/17 - Paperwork due to arrive in USCIS VSC

Cutting it close to my June 9 expiration but oh well, I included a copy of the notice from them and my initial form which was stamped and dated 04/25.

P.S. My paperwork was "stripped" and returned without the organizing dividers / folders as well as the metal binder clips I used. It came back reorganized - they put all the copies of our identification cards after the forms, and placed the photos (printed in printing paper) in the last part of the pile. They held it together using two rubber bands crissed-crossed. So I guess it's okay to submit them in a stack, as long as there's tab or something sticking out to find and leaf through the evidences.

My waiting game begins!

I was able to walk in somewhere in Philly (we live in NJ but I wanted to get it done and over with) when I did my biometrics for AOS. They frowned upon it though. You can try to research if there are locations in Chicago area that allows walk in and inquire. Otherwise, two options, one call in USCIS customer service to inquire, or second option would be to schedule an infopass to inquire.

Hello everyone, they received my I-751 packet in Vermont Service Center on April 05, 2017

Got the first NOA on 11th and my 2 years conditional residence due on 15th. The good thing was they counted the first time they got my packet. Hopefully everything will goes fine for everyone in here. God bless!
