Hi guys,

A quick update. I just finished going to USCIS today for my biometrics. It just took me around 10-15 minutes. They just asked for my biometrics letter and green card then I just filled out a form asking for basic info such as name, previous name before marriage, phone #, ht, wt, nationality, citizenship, A#, application nos, color of eyes and hair and after filling up the form, they gave me a number then called me after and that's it. I also went there an hour before my appointment schedule and since they were not toxic that time, they let me in.

Now, the waiiiitiiiing game begins.... Good luck to all of us!

To be honest, i'm not at all surprised. When we were filing the I-130, the processing times got longer than they'd been a few months earlier. It was due to the volume of of applications sent. So it makes sense now that all those people are filing the I-I-751 and with the supposed hiring freeze that only makes it worse.

Doing things the right way always takes longer but it's worth it.

So if it takes more than a year, will then extend our temporary status for another year?

From the Visa Journey ROC guide:

" If by some chance you are not approved within a year you will want to make an InfoPass appointment to go to your Local Office to request an I-551 stamp in your passport."

The I-551 stamp extends the green card another year.

Marriage: 2014-02-23 - Colombia    ROC interview/completed: 2018-08-16 - Albuquerque
CR1 started : 2014-06-06           N400 started: 2018-04-24
CR1 completed/POE : 2015-07-13     N400 interview: 2018-08-16 - Albuquerque

Also, you have option to file N400, so don't have to worry about green card renewal forever.

I-551 stamp on passport + N400 filing.

Probably IO from N400 may review both I-751 and N400 at the same time.

Supposedly, we file 3 months before the card expires. That gives us a max of 1 year and 3 months. Let's see.

Hope that we don't have to wait so long that we need the stamp.

i want to ask if anybody can help me with this... my son and i came here to the US on the same date with CR1 and CR2 visa,  both of our GC expiration are the same.. it says on I-751 that i can put him on Part 5 as my dependent,, so thats what i did.. we also pay biometric for him (his 8 years old).. it just makes me confused because when i recieve my NOA1 the reciept notice they just put my name on it not mentioning my sons name and says my green card is extended for one year... it makes me so worried because i didnt know if my sons GC also included to the NOA1 they sent me..
