I’m glad we filed our two cases together because the wait times overlap and we get to the final finish line faster and then done with all the waiting once and for all.

For those of us who filed N400 with ROC application pending, I think we all feel this way and is the reason we did it even risking a slower 10 yr green card process due to a slow local office. Just getting both done as soon as possible is worth a wait on the 1st application. Hang in there, I'm sure you'll hear something soon. Some of us have already received approval of both applications. By the way, my wife's ROC application never indicated any transfer of the case to NBC or any other service center. Three months into the N400 process, the local office picked up both cases and processed them simultaneously.

Marriage: 2014-02-23 - Colombia    ROC interview/completed: 2018-08-16 - Albuquerque
CR1 started : 2014-06-06           N400 started: 2018-04-24
CR1 completed/POE : 2015-07-13     N400 interview: 2018-08-16 - Albuquerque
ROC started : 2017-04-14 CSC     Oath ceremony: 2018-09-24 – Santa Fe

Also, I think we are approached about 15 month timeline from filing time, so depending on the officer who handle the case may think they need up-to-date, revised documents. Last time I heard was that our biometric data is valid for 15 months, so if our pending time is long enough, we may get to another notice for having new biometric data collected for background check again, and need to provide updated info for bona-fide marriage proof such as latest tax year documents and/or etc.

Oh thank you. I'm a divorce waiver filer but did try my best to gather as many as possible of the materials in my application. All I can do now is waiting for the letter to see what they want from me. At least it's better than a rejection.........

I’d like to know if his case is still at CSC or transferred to our local office in Vegas waiting to combine with his N400.

I tried calling one  afternoon to the CSC, but they refused to speak to me without Kev there (he was at work) to give his permission. I was so used to being able to call for status and push them along when we were going through the process of our CR 1 case. I understand why they do it due to maybe a recent Ex attempting to mess with an application, but honestly if the application shows you filed still married they should allow the citizen spouse to check on matters too. I did send in an online inquiry for status and the reply was that they would give a response by Sept 9th. So i’ll I give it till they respond and then I’ll make another call when we both can be on speaker phone with an agent.

If I find out any info or we see movement I’ll let you know.

What is the time estimate for your local office for the N400?  Las Vegas is 13.5 - 21 months. I’m glad we filed our two cases together because the wait times overlap and we get to the final finish line faster and then done with all the waiting once and for all.

My local office is processing very slow, similar wait times to you. I called USCIS this morning and was told by a tier 2 officer that my case is still at CSC and my N400 is in line for an interview but right now it is still at NBC. I’m hopeful that because my greencard is still at CSC, they will process them separate rather than combine them. Good luck to anyone still waiting and wondering!

I'd like to find out if submitting a tax amendment document as part of my response to USCIS RFE (within 2 weeks from now), for a tax amendment that will take about three months to reflect on the IRS system, is enough for the tax requirement by USCIS.

I'm an April 2017 filer for I-751 ROC. Earlier this month, I filed my taxes as "married but filing separately"  while trying to buy a house this month. This was based on the knowledge that my wife was having some identity theft issue. Later in the month, I received an RFE that required my wife and I to provide 2016 & 2017 tax documents. Based on the advice of others on here on this forum and other knowledgeable people, I came to a conclusion that jointly filing with my wife will be the best way to go. Together with my wife, we were able to get past the "identity theft issue". Both of us have not been filing taxes for the past three years. So, I have just amended my taxes for the years 2016 and 2017. I was told by the CPA tax consultant it will take about 3 months for the amendment to be processed and take effect on the IRS system.

I have to send a response back to USCIS no later than the first week of November - less than 3 months from now.

I hate to break it to you but CSRs and tier 2 are not the ones adjudicating the cases. How cases are worked, transferred/routed elsewhere, etc is a mystery with USCIS. The only ones that could tell you for a fact are the actual adjudicators and the only way to get that info would be from an inquiry.

And you can’t submit one of these inquiries until it is outside of normal processing is that correct?

That's correct. However, this system is not smart enough, even though it asks for the case number, one still needs to put in the receipt date...Not sure if they would look at your inquiry if you put in a different date.....Good luck. Hope that yours wouldn't be like mine that was sent to "offsite storage facility" the entire time.

You can get your congressman to send one on your behalf. These are treated as the highest priority and you will get an answer quickly.
