For those that received their EADs, did you also get an approval notice in the mail? I already have my card (production ordered on July 3, received it on July 7) but apparently they sent an approval notice on July 9 (never got it) and then touched again on July 14. Just wondering what that's all about. Might be nice if they actually touched it to enter me into the SAVE system so I can get my SSN!

I finally receive my EAD today! It has been a long journey for it to get to my mail box!!!

The card was sent on 28 June, but it was mailed to a wrong address, an address that messes up my old and new addresses(I changed it online in May)! The street & apartment numbers are of my new address, but the city and zip code are from the old address

It was returned to USCIS and re-sent to me on 13 July to my OLD address! Luckily I have filed for forwarding mail with the post office and it is in my hand today, FINALLY!

I hope my green card doesn't undergo the same journey! I am still waiting for it...

Sounds like I have to call USCIS again to confirm my address, would this work?

My interview experience July 20'th 2007 Cleveland, OH

We got there at the immigration office around 10AM and our appointment was for 10:45AM. There were not too many people, may be around 5-6 couples

We put our notice and waited. We were called in around 11:15AM.

The officer was female and introduced herself as Agent simpson and apologized for making us wait and how she was taking care of some business and forgot

our notice. She made us swear to tell the truth and started the videotaping. She looked at our ID's and mentioned how she was a few houses away from our place visiting friends Thursday evening. She asked for my passports and first thing, she took the I-94 and stapled it to her file!. She went through my G-325A information and verified my address and where I work, my school and all my parents details. She looked at my passport and saw all the times I have gone and come back into the country and mentioned that I had successfully maintained my status through my Grad school.

Then she went through each and every one of the Yes/No questions. After that she turned to my wife and verified all her details in her G-325A ( I am changing status from F-1, hence I had an I-130 pending). Once this was all done, she asked us how we met and our dating and engagement!. We told her that we met through e-harmony.com and she immediately mentioned that we were the second couple today to have met that way and I jokingly mentioned that I and my wife were planning to appear in their commercials. I told her how we met, when was our first date, where we went, when we got engaged and we got married. We also mentioned we had two ceremonies, one Indian and one Christian for both our families.

Then she asked us documents proving our marriage. We gave our new car joint title information, joint health information, joint car insurance, joint checking account, saving account statements back from when we were dating upto last month. She seemed to be pleased with all the documents so far. Then I gave her joint house deed, joint credit cards, and joint Goodwill donation papers. Also we provided her with our dog adoption documents with both our names and she liked this a lot, since he had dogs and there were pics on her office wall of her and the dog. We showed album of her pics from dating until the honeymoon and told her she could keep whatever she wanted. She went through all of them and didn't keep any. Also we had brought in our wedding albums (about 800 pics in all). She flipped through about one fill album (400 pics). She also wrote down in paper all the documents we showed her. She said everything looked good.

Then came the worst part, she said she was approving the I-130 right there in front of us on the spot and she did. She said she wouldn't be able to approve the I-485, since they were waiting on FBI Clearance and she didn't mention namecheck right away. I brought it up and she acknowledged it was the name check and she wouldn't be able to promise when that would clear. Once it clears, they would send the card right away. She also mentioned all the pending files would be put aside and some clerks are assigned to check one every week whether the namecheck has cleared or not.

I mentioned to her that we were moving from OH to PA soon at the end of August and what we need to. She mentioned to file the AR-11 form and give them the new address and the file would be automatically transferred to PA (I kind of didn't buy this part totally, but I didn't mention too much). I also asked her whether I would be able to Advance Parole now and she mentioned that since I have always kept status, I am good to use. She also mentioned that in theory, they check all the advance parole applications for overstay before approving. If there was a overstay for someone, the Advance Parole would be rejected in theory (I don't know how they would check completely, but didn't care either).

She also mentioned about removal of conditions and how we need to file again and they won't remind us, but will punish us if we forget. She also said to keep accumulating all these documents for the next two years and send it in with the removal of conditions. She also mentioned about how soon I can file for citizenship after the approval of the green card.

The interview was in all for 25 minutes, since we were chatting for quite a bit. My wife was kind of disappointed, but I had warned her about this happening.

All in all, I was happy but now the wait begins on the namecheck. I wasn't too worried before the interview, since we had accumulated all the documents and with help from this forum.

Just wanted to say to all remaining people waiting to be interviewed, take as much as you can and relax before and during the interview.

Just in case somebody didn't read my initial post in the main forum.....

WE PASSED!!! The interview was very easy. We showed up 15 minutes early, was called back at almost exactly 9am, the guy didn't really ask us any qustions, he really just wanted our joint bank account info, rental agreements....etc. He then asked Anna what she planned on doing in America for work, she said she was studying nails, he actually gave her his personal cell phone number and said that she could call him if she needed any help finding work because he knew a lot of Vietnamese shop owners (it turned out he lived in our small city an hour away). Then he went on talking about how loyal Asians were to their husbands and how he had a Vietnamese fiancee once who lived in Indiana and they had to break it off because of the distance. Then he went through the list of usual questions real fast, 'are you communist, are you going to be a prostitute, are you going to practice polygamy'...those sorts. Then he said our card would come in about a month and wished us a great life together. He didn't ask to see any pictures, he didn't ask about my job or my lack of a job therefore...he really didn't care too much about anything. We lucked out. Anyways, thanks everyone for your support.

It's been a pretty hectic weekend, between Elisa's love of Harry Potter and hosting family for dinner yesterday, but I wanted to say that we got the green card in the mail on Friday. We're planning to visit Germany next month for work, and now, we can go to Italy for our second wedding reception.

Congratulations to everyone who have recently been blessed with successful interview results, and hopefully, those of you experiencing problems will see them resolved in an extremely timely fashion.

Thanks to all of you on the board. Whether you know it or not, your posts have been an emotional rock for not only me, but for my wife during a very trying six weeks of uncertainty following a cliffhanger interview. We've been very stressed with just not knowing when the background checks would clear, and when/if she could leave the country with me for work. To have the card in our possession is a real relief.

I'll likely continue to post in this thread as needed, simply because I'm very happy to give advice and help where it's wanted. Please send me friends requests, as I'd like to stay in touch when it's time to share stories about filing to lift the conditions during that 90 day window, and eventually, applying for citizenship (if she chooses to do so).

Congratulations Sterling M! I'm glad there is Harry Potter and the GC, finally, to keep your wifey's spirit up! Enjoy your time away from USCIS, at least for a year and 9 months (?). I wish you guys all the best!

Tomorrow at noon time my husband and I will be off in a hotel in SF, a few blocks away from Sansome to have that romantic night before THE DAY, and so we plan to make the most and remember only nothing but happy & sweet memories. Butterflies go away!

The AOS interview was the most pleasant of all the interviews because they just make you swear in to all the info you furnished them and some personal verification of your valid relationship after marriage. Our family interview went for about 10 mins last July 9 and yesterday, we got our green card in the mail...now the process begins for he driver's license and the job hunting.
