I mailed mine out over night delivery, they received my package and signed for it on the 5th April. They haven't cashed the check yet though, still waiting on that. My visa expires next week so I'm kinda desparate for them to get a move on with it. How long do they normally take?

We seem in the same boat but I am kinda more worried now . When I mailed my AOS package to Chicago, my I-94 and visa were already expired. The I-94 was expired on March 25, 2007 then the visa was on March 31, 2007. As you see my AOS timeline below, it's so worrying.

Why are you worried ? It has only been 8 days... and plus there were probably in "holiday" mode last week... you have aboslutely NOTHING to worry about.

Even if your visa and I-94 had expired...

I hope so! I also pray that it won't take any longer.

LOL... it will take longer than 8 days for your AOS to be approved. Trust me.

LOL... it will take longer than 8 days for your AOS to be approved. Trust me.

It doesn't matter if your I-94 and visa were expired...you fulfilled the terms, and falling out of status is forgiven by marriage to a USC anyway, even if it were a big deal.

I can't wait. I guess when we get the first NOA, then it will feel like we really are in the game, for real.

Hmm.. In fact, I didn't expect that I received it today with NOA1 date knowing that both of my very important documents expired already when I submitted the package. But thankfully, here it came. I am now waiting for the schedule of my biometrics appointment in mail. Yes, it seems the start of the game.
