Just to clear things up, the NOA date on our list is the date on the Notice or is it the date we received the NOA in the mail??

Also - my profile name is AgRo - not Aqro. Thanks in advance for correcting it. Every time I try to paste the list into a post, it ruins the alignment, so I will let whoever was posting it to continue. Hope to see some more NOAs and Biometrics appointments on our list very soon! :yes:

To make a VERY long story fairly short, my husband briefly left the US (less than a week) in the mid-'90s, travelling on "advanced parole". When he ran into immigration problems a few years ago while on Temporary Protected Status (TPS) they charged him as "a new arrival". Fast forward to last fall, when it was announced that TPS was ending for Liberians, as their civil war finally ended, and the citizens elected a democratic president.

We'd been planning to get married a couple years ago (before it was announced that TPS was ending), never knowing that his case would drag out this long. There were many twists and turns, but eventually, we won our case in the US Courts of Appeals (a rarity in immigration cases), and it's taken this long to go back to the Exec Office of Immigration Appeals, then back to the immigration judge. It's been more than a nightmare, and has created a financial disaster for us--losing a business, two cars, a home.

We've even filed a Writ of Mandamus (requiring the gov't to implement the laws they'd created) and finally, the powers that be have decided "it's in the interest of justice to expidite the case". It's been an exercise of patience and love, to say the least. I've had so much support from family (his and mine), and our friends and co-workers, or we would have never gotten through this mess. It's like re-building our lives from the bottom on up, but we'll make it. Every step of the way, our communication and love has been the key.

As a side note, there are 28,000 families that are living this (or similar) nightmares nationwide at any point in time, so we've not been alone!

3/22 Got married (civil ceremony--I'm the USC)

3/22 Took license to courts to get a certified copy of our marriage certificate

3/27 Our attorneys mailed the AOS package to the lockbox (They said they've never done one so quickly.)

4/2 Applied for Social Security card in my new married name, along with updating my drivers license and beginning to change names on all of our household bills, adding each other on to credit cards, insurance, etc.

4/3 Received receipt notice

4/9 Received my new Soc Card in the mail

4/10 My husband received his biometrics notice for 4/25

4/12 At immigration office with attorney, and they agreed to do biometrics on the spot, rather than wait until the 4/25 appt.

4/16 Received I-797 stating that case was transferred to local USCIS office to "speed up processing of I-130"

4/21/07 Received notice of I-130 interview from the local office to come in for an interview

4/26/07 Met with an immigration officer in separate interviews. All seemed to go well! We should hear back from them within a week. Our attorney said their office will receive an email on status as soon as it's available.

I can hardly wait to have the full wedding ceremony with family and friends!

2011 Nov: Voluntarily Abandoned PR green card (due to relocation oversea). Received FREE B1/B2 & C1/D Crew US visa

2024 APR: Planned for EB2-C from Taiwan as Professional Pilot

As of March 15, 2007, the last update of the Chicago Office had the following dates:

I-485 - September 13, 2006 (183 day backlog)

I-765 - December 27, 2006 (78 day backlog)

SO....................I would estimate my NOA2s as follows since Our receipt date is April 12, 2007:
