So basically for any other file like " how you met your fiancee ", " letter of intent " and so forth it needs to be translated into english if its in another language`, ok so i got that done, but the problem is that since my fiancee is in the dominican republic, he cant sign no translations, but the originals are signed and dated, so with the translations, i just told the lasy and she told me that since is not sined because he lives over there and he really wont know well what he is signing to go ahead send it like that, with the translator notorization. so thats whta i am going to do . is it ok?

The "Letter of Intent to Marry" and the "description of how you met" on I-129F, both need to be written in English only.

Anything that your fiancee writes in Spanish can be translatred by a certified translator here in the States.

Here's how it works. Your fiancee writes and/or signs any document that is in Spanish. You then take this document to a certified translator. The translator will write a new document with the translation and then put a note on the translated document saying it has been translated to the best of her/his knowledge. But your fiancee doesn't have to write or sign anything in English, it wouldn't make sense.

altimixdj,

Close, You are correct that the I-129f must be prepared in English. However, if the "statement of intent" from the fiance(e) is attached as a supplemental attachment page to the I-129f it can be in the native language but it MUST be accompanied by an English translation.

YMMV

This I didn't know. I've never heard of the supplemental attachment page being in another language. Thanks for letting me know! ;)

Keep in mind that the I-129F must be completed by the US Citizen and the "Statement of how we met" should be written by the US Citizen as it is an attachment of the I-129F, NOT by the alien fiance, so there is no need to translate that, as it should be in english.

Just remember, that there is only ONE "statement of how we met", and it's written in english by the petitioner (US Citizen). On the other hand, you BOTH need to write letters of intent if your fiance is fluent in english he can write it in english so you wont need a translation. If he's not he can write it and sign it in spanish and send it to you, and then you can look for a translator.

No, the "statement" has to be written in english, remember that the US Citizen is the one submitting the form, and he/she is the responsible of completing it, this statement is an attachment to the I-129F so it has to be written in english only.
