Thanks for the input guys, I also think its an NOID, if so I'll definitely be contacting a lawyer.  No time for mistakes.

If it is an NOID do you think that they didn't bother with an interview at all?

Oh no! So sorry!!  Wishing you the very best!!

Oh a NOID. I am so sorry. But from what I know, there's still hope. It does say that they reviewed your application and even with the evidence they are thinking of denying you, but it is not a denial, yet. So wait for the letter explaining the reason. After the NOID is received you have to provide additional evidence addressing the issue that was provided in the letter. They give you up to 30 days to do so, so don't take it lightly. If you don't send what they require in the time frame given, then you will be issued the official denial letter and lose all the time and money.  If you have the means, a lawyer might be a good idea.

But did you get a previous rfe?  Did they send you a prior notice of further documentation that you didn't take action on?

Nope, nothing since they took my fingerprints last December.

Did you have an address change at any point and/or make sure that your checked the website for updates? It can be possible that they sent out an RFE that you never received.

It is strange that you are recieving a NOID after getting your EAD. It looks like there is a missing RFE somewhere. You do show on your timeline that you received an RFE for your AP. What was the RFE for? Did you ever respond to it and are you 100% sure they received it?

As of right now though, you'll just have to wait for the NOID in the mail and then go from there. I wish you the best of luck.

We're there any red flags in your application which might have led to this?

Not to my knowledge, I followed the guidelines on VJ to the T, or at least I believe so

No address change, I am subscribed to both the email and text message notifications via the account I made directly on USCIS. No RFE or anything on the account that shows one. I get a text as soon as they post anything at all up there.

It is strange that you are recieving a NOID after getting your EAD. It looks like there is a missing RFE somewhere. You do show on your timeline that you received an RFE for your AP. What was the RFE for? Did you ever respond to it and are you 100% sure they received it?

Well I'm still hoping its not a NOID Lol.  The RFE I received for the EAD and AP (some glitch on the VJ website doesn't show the RFE date for both and EAD & AP but they came together at the same time) they  wanted a copy of my original marriage certificate along with an affidavit stating what my maiden and new legal (married name) is etc. I got my combo card soon after.  I did however submit an original marriage certificate with my I-485 .

As of right now though, you'll just have to wait for the NOID in the mail and then go from there. I wish you the best of luck.

Yup waiting,, and I will update the thread ! Thank you!

Spoiler

So lo and behold, the cryptic update last Friday was nothing more than a RFE.  I'll type the gist of the letter here for everyone:

.......................................................................................................................................................................................................

RE: App to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status

REQUEST FOR EVIDENCE

Dear  **OP**

Why we are Writing You

On Nov ** 2016, you submitted your I-485. We are writing to inform you that we need more information from you to make a decision on your case.  Please read this letter carefully and follow all of the instructions below.

What you Need to Do

You must provide the following information in order for us to make a final decision on your case.

- Submit the marriage certificate for the marriage of *OP* and *hubby*.  The marriage certificate must be issued by the government agency authorized to issue the document.  For immigration purposes, the marriage must have been registered with the government agency authorized to register marriages from the location where the marriage took place.  The marriage certificate must have the seal of the issuing office, the date of registrar and signature of registrar.

etc.. etc ..

Please include a copy of this letter with your response.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll be sending an official certified copy later today along with a copy of the letter courier style.

On the plus side it looks like my case may be on the edge of approval and that they're not bothering to call us for an interview. So yea!

And yes, I did submit an original copy of your marriage certificate with the original petition lol .  I also got and RFE for my EAD/AP for the same issue, oh well.

Thanks everyone!
