I had my infopass appointment earlier this morning at the Providence office. I was there to talk about my pending EAD/AP. It was not particularly helpful.

The officer was very pleasant and made some small talk. He said that it doesn't look like they require any additional documents and that they have the biometrics and address change (I moved in June) recorded in their system. He couldn't tell me what the outcome of my recent service request was and told me to call the customer service line to tell them that it has been over 120 days (!!!!!). He did mention that if it is still pending by September 13 (my GC interview date), I can get an endorsement on the passport that would enable to me to start working right away as opposed to waiting for the card to come through.

Thanks for sharing your Infopass experience. Sounds like it was almost as helpful as mine. It still feels good to hear from someone at USCIS, right? I often feel like we submit our applications into a black hole!

I am somewhat bothered by the fact that your online status did not change to "Interview is Scheduled." It is scary that aside from the physical letter, there's no other indication that your case is already scheduled for an interview. 😖 What if the letter did not arrive and the online status did not change at all? 😖 But anyways, good thing you got yours. 👍🏼

I agree with you! Luckily, we have signed up for USPS's free Informed Delivery service. Interestingly enough, a fellow VJ'er (@geowrian) is one of the programmers on the project.

The USCIS app just alerted that the case statuses for my EAD and AP applications changed. They changed from "Case Was Received" to "Case Closed Benefit Received By Other Means". This is because I received my green card some time ago.

Gotta love USCIS! Getting your green card before your EAD/AP card makes the whole process seem very poorly executed. Congrats on getting your green card!

Great news yes 3 days from when u received ur under review notification you will receive email n text notification letting u know that ur new card in production. Thank u I received my combo card on Saturday. I will be visiting the SSN office this week. Wishing you guys all the best n lots of good news.

Unfortunately, that's not always true. Our PD/NOA1 date is 27 April and we received a reply to our SR on 7 August stating that our case was "under review" yet we still haven't seen an update or received anything via e-mail or snail mail. We even had an Infopass appointment on 9 August, too!

We got approved at our green card interview yesterday, it was extremely easy, lady was, nice asked basic questions and didnt ask to see anything, saw a lot of couples with lawyers, noq for a good 2 year break, card will come in 10 business days, also they said the middle name couldn't be changed but i guess its based on what state your in, she said we could do it later, no biggie

Congrats! I know it's been a long journey for you and your wife. Doesn't it feel great to realize you did this with the help of the VJ community and didn't need help from a lawyer? Pat yourself on the back!

@soulstriker Congratulations! It is so nice to read about positive interview outcomes. 🙂

@narakthisud I tried signing up for that but unfortunately, I couldn't pass the online verification as our address is still tied to the former owner. 😔 I would go to the nearest branch once I have my State ID to have it fixed. Thank you. 🙂

Today I sent a four-page FAX to my member of Congress (representative). I also spoke with a really nice lady on the phone. Apparently, this particular office deals with USCIS all the time, so it feels like I'm in good hands. At any rate, she told me that she'll have a reply for me by next week. Fingers crossed!

Hey Guys,

Just got a notification that my card is being produced - after 128 days ! FINALLY! To God be the Glory!

To all the people who are still waiting : I know it's difficult but hang in there, it will soon be your turn.

A lot of people mentioned that it took them 3 days after raising a SR and receiving " Your case is under review.." message to be approved. It took exactly 2 weeks for me so I guess it really depends.

THANK YOU narakthisud !!!! Trust me, I know how you feel. Today I was completely depressed - spent the whole day on the sofa eating chocolate chip cookies.. and just like that a 6 PM I received the text notification. Hang in there,  I know for sure you'll get your approval really soon. It seems like things are really moving for many people who filed beginning of April. Keep us updated !

Okay, now I want some cookies! If only eating cookies could make USCIS work faster...
