Got Biometrics done today as a walk in. I had an InfoPass but the front desk laggy was very nice and told me to go straight to do biometrics. I didn't have a notice on hand but they were ok with it and gave me one on the spot. The service at Seattle DHS location was superb. And I'm super happy to get this over with and place an SR for EAD asap.

Hello fellow Kirlandian!

We filed in July, just had our biometrics done last week. I agree the Seattle office was very nice and DAMN efficient. Other than the $7 parking, it was a quick and very painless trip (5-10min max, with essentially no wait). Hopefully, the rest of the process with them is this easy.

Congrats I'm happy for you that it finally happened.

I'm going in tomorrow for my biometrics I hope after that there will be some movement.

Hey all! Just wondering if anyone else in this thread is adjusting from VWP? :) I am! Just curious as to whether this affects case processing at all? I submitted a SR on 27 July (which was day 102) and was told I'd get a response today but haven't heard anything...and I'm seeing that a lot of people did several SR's with no response. Starting to go crazy wahhhh! Makes me optimistic seeing lots of progress in people's cases though :)

I doubt that VWP adjustment is any different from others with the exception of there being more scrutiny. To answer your question about SR's...well, I honestly don't know how useful they are. I submitted an SR on 7/26 and got a "your case is under review" reply yesterday morning. That was, uh, really helpful! (sarcasm)

Hi:) Glad to find a neighbor on here. That is so awesome!

Wow how ridiculous is that you filed in July and got Bio done a week before me, when i filed at the end go July? USCIS is not doing their job right. I am glad that you did not get stuck at all with your process and I wish you it goes just as fast and smooth till you reach Naturalization point!

It is pretty crazy, a lot of us early July filers got our biometrics pretty quickly. Though there has been a recent spat of them separating the biometrics for I485 and I765, which has caught people off guard. They end up getting two biometrics letters and they have to go twice. Thankfully ours was a combined one.

If you want to feel really crazy, a few people assigned to Yakima, who applied in June, already have their interviews scheduled! I am expecting this stage to go for many months as Seattle is much more busy! Cheers and good luck to you too. Hopefully this was the last of your headaches.

Whoa.... I would not mind to drive to Yakima or even Spokane if that helps so much. Damn it... :( This did make me feel really crazy hahaha

Does anyone know is that is at all possible to request to be assigned to a different Field Office?:) I would expect they would also be better off if a customer was willing to be reassigned, since they would have a better spread of customers to different offices.

Btw, I submitted an Expedite Request for EAD today. Decided i have nothing to lose from it. I don't have a job offer; however, have a car purchase coming up and all savings gone to even pay rent and bills (basically, a very tough financial situation). I will keep you posted on the results. Some people had successful experience expediting without having an offer and i am hoping i will get lucky as well:)

Does anyone know whether it is okay to go to a different USCIS office for an infopass appointment? -- Different from the field office. I have one scheduled at my local infopass office for next Monday. But there is slot at a different one for tomorrow.

You and me both! Unfortunately, based on the rules found in the Adjudicator's Field Manual, a case can be transferred only in very limited situations.

Which are:

  Quote
  • The application/petition was not filed in the proper jurisdiction;
  • The applicant/petitioner now resides within another jurisdiction;
  • An application/petition pending at a service center appears to warrant a personal interview at a field office;
  • A supervisory officer transfers workload to another officer within the same jurisdiction; or
  • Regulations require transfer of an application/petition to another office for specific action.

Based on my experience in Seattle they should be fine with it. They only asked me the purpose of visit and ID at the front desk. So if i Were you I would try anyways. Hopefully wherever you go for InfoPass will be just as nice as in Seattle.

Hahah - yes very helpful! :P

Yeah I'm totally prepared for that but not worried at all as my hubby and I are very much a bona fide couple :) But just wondered if anyone else on here was filing from VWP as it'll be interesting to see if anything is different.  Thanks for your reply and let me know if you hear anything back from your SR :D
