CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's so amazing that your wife has already a job offer and will now go to another interview - Best of luck to her in whichever job she takes ! It feels great to read messages like this - proof that it is indeed a very long journey that can be really frustrating but at the end it's all worth it !

Thanks A+S!  I'm sure your EAD/AP are coming right our our heels! :)

Thanks so much Flower1 !!! I really appreciate ur help :)!

So, the wait is not even over after getting your case approved ahahahha LOL :D!!! I'm sure you'll get your card really soon - based on what I heard it should take a week or less. Please keep me updated on this!

Hopefully I'll get the good news in the upcoming week. I talked to some officer yesterday who told me my case was with an adjudicator and that I should hear something really soon. I remember you telling me you went on an Infopass appointment and that the officer told you something similar. Do you remember how many days it took from that day to getting your card  actually produced ?

PS : It is really awesome that we'll go through this whole process together :dancing:!!!!!

Hehe you're welcome :)

You're right! I'm expecting for the card to be mailed out to me by Tuesday and receive it by Saturday (latest next Monday) ^_^

Yessss I hope this week is your week, it has to be!!!!:dancing: Ohhh yes, that's exactly what the officer at the InfoPass appointment told me. She even told me the day that my case was passed to the 'adjudication stage'. From that day to the day I received the status update, 15 days have passed. Did the officer on the phone tell you when your case was passed to the adjudication stage?

this is why i hate lawyers... why would you not submit something if its free to submit along with the i-485 package? its coz the lawyer is lazy and doesn't want to do the extra paperwork... there is absolutely no excuse for such behavior from lawyers... mine wanted to charge me 2700 dollars for just filing my paperwork and he didn't even know some of the things that other people have taught me on here... i decided to do it by myself and did a lot of research before submitting my forms and as God was on my side i got approved for my GC in exactly 70 days(after being out of status for nearly 2 years(or cud say overstay))... I do think that i got lucky but still that's 2700 dollars i saved... that's almost 2 weeks salary for my wife... LOL...

I'm also glad I didn't bother with a lawyer. Our case was simple (no overstays, no prior marriages, no criminal record in either country, etc.) so we put the money to better use. :)

Hello everyone!

My EAD just reached 115 days.

I just called USCIS and asked me for call them back on Aug 21 😬😱😵

How my case could be escalated to Tier 2? Since the lady from USCIS told me I should wait and I cannot rise my request to the next level ...

😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

You cannot imagine how I feel.

Are you saying the Tier 2 officer won't call you back until 21 August? Or are you saying that USCIS told you to call back after 21 August?

Hey everyone, My mother-in-law (also an April-filer) had her AP status updated to "Name was updated" , although we never made any such request. Has this happened to anyone else?

Oh boy. That sounds a little worrying although it could just be an adjudicator clicking the wrong button.

Hey @earnhaaart, I just called again and the tier 2 officer I spoke to said that my card hasn't even been produced & the person who updated my status must have made a mistake! Yesterday they told me it had been produced but hadn't been posted. I'm just going to hope against hope that they post it on Monday!

My goodness, that's awfully annoying! At the very minimum, you'd think the status updates would be somewhat accurate!

Soo not good news for my combo card buuut I spend my morning at the DMV and even though my I-94 is expired they could verify me through the SAVE database and I got my 5 year driver's license 🙌

Congrats!!! Question: how long had you been in possession of your EAD card? Some people on VJ said to wait 10 days before visiting the DMV to allow USCIS to make updates to the SAVE database.

Yes i signed up at usps website a couple days ago. And then this afternoon i got a text from them with a tracking number of my combo card and where its at. Like I said I called USCIS twice to see if they can give me the tracking number but they kept telling me that it hasn't mailed out yet. I saw the history on usps and it was delivered yesterday. It's funny how uscis workers don't have any idea on what they're doing.😒 anyways I suggest you do the same thing, usps will send you a text message if anything is being delivered in your mail. Don't bother calling uscis as you might be frustrated with their answers.

I have the USPS Informed Delivery service and it rocks! If anyone needs help or has questions, I might suggest checking out this thread by one of the guys who actually is involved with the project:

I have not received my EAD yet. Filed end of April and this week I'll have my biometrics. I went to the DMV with my husband since he needed a new driver's license and I just asked when I can apply for one since my I-94 is expired and I don't have the EAD yet. So the lady requested a verification from SAVE and a week later I got a letter from the DMV that the SAVE verification was approved and I went back and got it. Paid the $28 got a horrible picture taken and will get the license within the next week.

I have no clue how she did it since the next lady there said she doesn't know how I got approved even with an expired I-94. On a side note I have a ssn and a state ID from the state we lived in before we moved to Colorado.

For those that have received Ead cards, did it come in the regular mail in a regular envelope? Or was it hand delivered?, from July 26 my status said the card has been mailed, but it has not got to me as yet, worried it is lost or something

Hi

Mine was delivered in my mailbox, with priority mail. USCIS sent it on Aug 2 and I received it in the mail on Aug 4. Is your name clearly labeled on the mailbox? Sometimes the postman won't deliver government letters if your name isn't on the mailbox... I can understand you are worried since it's been quite a while since they mailed it! Try calling your local post office - they might be able to help you with this.

@narakthisud Lol yep something like that. It changed on its own in under 2 hours to "AP document was produced". :D I hope it has the right name on it.

Hello! Me once again (almost blocked by USCIS customer service team and Visa Journey as well)

I was able to reach out to the Tier2 Team, the lady said that the time processing for EAD is not longer 90 days, but 5 months instead (yes 150 days) ... I must wait 30 days more okayyyy.

I cannot understand why they are not able to provide a real status of the request, the service is not for free (no matter if it was sent along with the AOS form -$1,125 + biometrics), I am a customer 😢

Just got an e-mail reply to my SR from 7/26:

Quote

Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly.

So basically, a non-answer. Today is day 116 since they received our case. I was able to snag an Infopass appointment at the USCIS office near us later this week. But I truly wonder if that's going to help at all. I have a FAX prepared to send my representative just in case the Infopass appointment doesn't yield anything.

The fun never stops! Does anyone have tips on attending an Infopass appointment? The thread below seems to have some good advice that might translate well into an in-person appointment:

WHOA... 150 DAYS? This is insane. USCIS website even says their processing for EAD is 90 days. Some folks on here get EADs within 110-120 days even with RFEs, so for USCIS to take 150 days on a regular case without RFEs is just complete nonsense.

Stay strong and try to call again and speak with a different Tier 2 IO. I called 3 or 4 times so far, and only one of them was somewhat rude, while others were super nice, empathetic and helpful.

Also try scheduling an INFOPASS. Best of luck! I am also still waiting on EAD (day 103) and still have not got biometrics taken:(

@EvgeniaM, you will not recieve ead without biometrics. Those of us who filed around Apr 27th did not get biometrics appointment. We're assuming it was a system glitch or something. Anyway, your case is suspended until you do biometrics. Have your American citizen spouse, contact your congressman and file an inquiry on your behalf. There is nothing you're waiting for. Get aggressive.

I received the appointment for Bio for 08/24 but since it is still a long wait I am intending on going to my previously scheduled InfoPass tomorrow 08/08 and ask for my bio taken right there and then. So kinda walk-in with InfoPass together. If they do my fingerprints tomorrow, then within a few days I will submit another SR for EAD.  Do you think I have a good plan or should i still ask my spouse to contact the congressman?

Thanks!
