On another front, I tried to change my name on Social Security Card to my married name yesterday and they would not do it because I do not have an 'official status' they can put in the system apparently. I only care because my husband put me on his insurance through work with my new name and they are saying they will not pay for my medical expenses because my name is different on the social security card. Also I would really like a state ID and not have to carry my passport everywhere but they also want proof of signature with my new name and asked for the social security card for that.

I am getting tired of being in limbo.

I hear you! I too tried to help my wife change her name with proof of marriage (a certified copy of our marriage record) but failed for the same reason. What the SSA person told me is that my wife's information has to be verified against DHS records, plain and simple. It's absolutely the worst thing to have to wait on an EAD to update your SSN card because in PA (as with most states, I'd imagine) your USCIS/DHS credentials (EAD, in this case) are crucial to moving forward with getting a state ID card or drivers' license.

Here's to hoping you get your EAD/AP card soon!

🤐🙁🤐

I just uninstalled the USCIS app, it was driving me crazy. I was checking the status of my EAD/AP/AND every 15 minutes. These requests reached 105 days.

I am in Houston:

April 13- Case Received

May 25- Biometrics Appointment

June 21- Interview Ready to be Scheduled for Interview (never got a date for the interview)

July 12- 90 Days/ filed service request for EAD

July 21- SR response - Case is under review ...

I feel a big frustration, since we do not know if papers are misplaced, or if they asked for additional data and I was not notified on time, I do know 😭😭😭😭

4 days ago I reached out to the congressman, I will call on Friday to check if they read my request and/or check the forms I attached.

I can't blame you for uninstalling the app! I hide it so I don't click it so often.

Based on what I've read here on VJ, the "under review" SR response is a REALLY GOOD SIGN because it means they've assigned your case to an officer. An update should be coming really soon for you!
