Hi Omoba

I don't live in Texas - I just checked the InfoPass website for the Houston office and yes, it looks like there are no available slots over the next 2 weeks. Then, I searched and found this website specifically for the Houston Office: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices/texas-houston-field-office

Under the 'Visiting the Office' section it says the following:

In order to visit this office or to speak with an Immigration Services Officer, you must have an appointment scheduled by USCIS, or you must schedule an INFOPASSappointment, on the USCIS website.  You may also schedule an INFOPASS appointment at our office utilizing our INFOPASS kiosks located in the waiting room lobby.

Maybe it's worth going to the office and check with the officers there - if you decide to do this, make sure to bring your ID and letters from USCIS showing the Case Number etc.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks for the info.. I followed the link you posted and dashed down to their office which is about 45mins away, I was disappointed, the same response was what I got when I got to the so called "kiosk". I asked to speak to someone but I was turned down.

Houston is such a mess!

Update: My "case was received" on April 24th, and today marks the 93rd day without a change in the status of my EAD and AP.

My GC status changed to "case is ready to be scheduled for interview" on June 14th, but even if we get an interview, I don't really expect it anytime soon.

On another front, I tried to change my name on Social Security Card to my married name yesterday and they would not do it because I do not have an 'official status' they can put in the system apparently. I only care because my husband put me on his insurance through work with my new name and they are saying they will not pay for my medical expenses because my name is different on the social security card. Also I would really like a state ID and not have to carry my passport everywhere but they also want proof of signature with my new name and asked for the social security card for that.

I am getting tired of being in limbo.

hi... First of all before worrying about a service request you have to get through a lot of other things...

i think you should read these types of posts and then do as they say, there are some differences with the new forms too so keep that in mind... i don't think you need the g325a forms anymore... do some thorough reading on the forum before actually making your AOS package... also the USCIS forms page usually has very detailed instructions on every form you need to submit... please do tons and tons of research and fill out all the forms properly and with enough supporting evidence and the proper translations and stuff before filing as it will help you avoid all the RFEs and RFIEs that could potentially delay your process for months because of some simple mistake you made because of carelessness... (though in some cases even the most well prepared applications get those) pay special attentions to the birth and marriage certificates and pay stubs and tax forms...

if you have documentation proving your name change like the marriage certificate, stating the new name, sign your married name, otherwise use maiden name...

Lots of photos of you two together during different stages of your relationship, especially some from trips you took or showing you meeting each others' family and friends are always the best proof to have, a combined lease or auto insurance or life insurance policy with each other as nominees or utility bills with both names on it are also good evidence for a bonafide relationship...

hope this helps...

P.S. I did not understand the question you had about the insurance please clarify and i can try to answer it for you...

Go here: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

Should be the section: "Case outside normal processing time" (which is +75 days, so you don't need it at this point, since you haven't filed yet).

About the AOS question, there are guides on this site, which should help.

Today marks 90 days since NOA1 and 104 days since USCIS received my wife's AOS/EAD/AP forms. I filed an e-request today in the hopes that it actually isn't needed since most folks are averaging 110-120 days for EAD/AP approval. In case anyone is curious, here's a screenshot of what you will see when you submit an SR:
