You can sign up on the USCIS My Case webpage and you will be able to see the status of your SR. For example, for me it says that the request is currently not assigned for processing.

This is the link: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/displayLogon.do

@Flower1 Thank you. I signed up just now. Same status (not assigned for processing). 😆

@Ninatica Hopefully, we'll receive positive updates soon. 🙏🏼

@gray_cat If SR won't do the trick, then I would have no choice but to wait and submit another SR after 30 days. 🙂 But I'm praying that the SR would help.

@nikaero Yes, I love the people in this thread. They are helpful and polite. 🙂

This whole thing is stressing me out now. The processing dates are actually moving to previous points in time, according to Visa Journey's processing page. I have a job offer that's waiting on the EAD (don't think I can expedite, because I'm on a L1 visa), and a trip in September for my brother's wedding. Annoyingly, my lawyer did not explain travelling with a pending AOS to me, so I applied for the AP a month later (90 days for AP is literally 2 weeks before my trip...).

And I can't even travel with the L1 visa, because I definitely wont be working with my current company at that time. I'm tempted to call on Monday and ask a Tier 2 officer to try and get the EAD/AP combo card for me, instead of treating them as separate applications.

Hey,

Give it a try and call USCIS tomorrow asking them to expedite your EAD based on a job offer and also ask them to expedite your AP because of your brother's wedding in September. It might work.

Also, I'm not too sure how accurate/reliable the processing time on this website is. It's probably best to use the official USCIS processing time website https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do - scroll down at the end of the page and select the applicable Service office. From the info you provided below your profile pic, it seems you should select NBC Processing Dates. Note that the information on there are true as of 31 May 2017.

Good luck with the process!

Hello everyone  has anyone fill for aos this  recently  and see the new forms?

hi... didn't really understand your question... this is the topic started for people who filed for AOS during the month of April 2017... so if I'm guessing right on what your question is, most of the people haven't filed very recently and hence wouldn't have seen the new form if it is very recent... good luck with your journey...

Hey the April filers have used the old i-485 form since this new update was introduced very recently. So none of us has first-hand experience with the new form.

I think the members of these two forums will be able help you out - good luck!

Try july 2017, people there are the ones who are sending their applications this month, so they should have more knowledge of the new forms. People here have done it months ago and they know nothing about the new forms.

Turns out I was/am missing my biometrics. I'd assumed that, as I never received an appointment, my biometrics taken last year were still valid; clearly that wasn't the case.

Either way, a representative from the congressman's office spoke directly with USCIS and arranged for a new appointment first thing Monday.

I'm taking this as meaning that once my biometrics are taken the EAD should be processed fairly quickly because USCIS are clearly in correspondence with my congressman re: my expedite request, and my AP has already been approved. Fingers crossed it's all wrapped up within a week.

Wow -- what a bureaucratic journey you've had! What was the process you followed in getting in contact with your congressman? I am passed the 90-day mark and need to urgently expedite EAD and AP. Did you make any SRs or called the congressman directly? And how long did it take from calling to getting the AP? Thanks!

It's alright to vent. :) We are here to help each other through; whether if it means enlightening others about procedures/policies, responding to questions, sharing experience or simply hearing each other out. It's an excruciatingly long and frustrating journey; we're here to remind each other it will be over, sooner or later (probably later for the majority of us :D ), resulting a positive outcome. Hang in there! :)

Hello

I just found this thread and I'm happy that I found it.

I filed April 26 still all in the normal processing time except I haven't received a biometrics yet.

Made forst SR and nothing happened after 30 days made the second and got a respons 2 days later saying your case is on hold because you haven't had the biometrics done yet.

So all in all not very helpful at all. Will probably call again if today or tomorrow is nothing in the mail.

@spiny, isisn't it funny that they put your case on hold because you haven't done the biometrics they forgot to schedule you for.  Funny thing is, all of us whose biometrics were delayed applied right around apr 26th!!! I think either they had a system glitch or someone quit and they didn't reassign our files to a new case officer.

Make another SR stating you never got an appt. Make it yourself or you escalate when you call and insist you  speak to a tier 2 agent. Tier 1 can't help. Then go ahead and contact your congressman. I was finally scheduled for an appt after the congressman inquired for me. It really sucks how they handle our cases. Wish there was someone to complain to.

I just called again and waiting for a call back from a Tier 2 officer in exactly 152 minutes. I hope it works.

And I would really like to find out what went wrong with all those cases.

I thought I had enough time for the AP filing in April to travel in September but it looks like I'm cutting it close.
